Easter Eggs
Happy Easter everyone! Today we will take a look at Easter Eggs. Eggs are widely used as a symbol for new life. Ancient Zoroastrians used painted eggs in there new year's celebrations. In Christianity eggs are seen as a symbol of the resurrection. One Easter egg origin story says that Mary Magdalene was bringing cooked eggs with her to Jesus tomb. The eggs turned red when she saw the risen Christ. Another story says that when the same Mary went to the emperor after Jesus' ascension she exclaimed that Jesus had risen. The emperor pointed to an egg and said that he had risen no more then that egg was red. The egg then turned blood red. Easter egg traditions may have also developed as a way to celebrate the end of Lent. During Lent eggs were traditional avoided. If you find an egg with two yolks today it is a sign you will be rich soon.
