Ancients Greeks thought snow was one of the substances that could spontaneously create life. Specifically a type of worm or grub.
Drinking melted snow was once that to be a cause of goiters.
If you hear thunder in winter you will have snow a week later.
For every day you have fog in August you will have that many snowfalls that winter.
Throwing snow from the first snowfall of the season over your head will keep you from being cold all winter.
Snow falling on you from a pine tree is good luck.
Seeing blood stains in the snow is also good luck but if they have been partially obliterated it makes it bad luck.
