the events of saturday were completely unplanned.
after a tumultuous week my emotions and were raw and was not in the best place.
i was going to spend the day napping, playing animal crossing and watching John Adams, the weighty part of the day.
well the phone is in the living room and on the other end of the house is my room. generally i ignore the phone unless i know someone is calling or i am hoping that someone is calling. well i went and answered it.
it was my grandmother saying she was coming. that was odd. i could barely hear her and my mother was at work.
well she shows up and says she was evacuated. i was shocked because i had no idea what was going on and panicking because what in the world was i going to do with my grandmother? well we turned on the local news channel to find out what was going on. apparently a truck carrying dangerous chemicals swerved to avoid hitting a deer and rolled over. the mandatory evacuation was for 12 to 24 hours. *panic* people could go to the local high school, it was set up as a shelter. as much as i did not want to spend the day with my grandmother i was glad she did not go. i would not want to go to the local high school during a disaster! she was lucky she was able to get out of the area! she live in the area all her life so she knew how to get out.
we spent three hours watching msnbc. the shows about murder mystery's or what not.
she hates cats, actually any animal. however i have two cats. chaos was happily asleep and locked in my moms room all day. kali however needs to be around people. so she hung out and my grandmother kept freaking out.
i told her that if she wanted to watch tv i could go into my room and kali would follow me. my grandmother was completely ruining kali's schedule.
thankfully at five the evacuation was lifted. we had pizza and my grandmother was able to go home. she was even able to drive home before dark.
it was a really weird day.
