Dear Santa,
last year i kindly asked you to change your image. i thought changing with the times would be good. you misrepresent yourself. the magic of the season is dead. it is commercialized and about the latest, greatest gadget. well what about spending time with the one we love. instead it is stress, mean people and having to spend time with people we do not even particularly like. being an adult and the fact that this will be the third non-christmas because we are hanging by a thread financially, i have come to learn that shiny pretty boxes with presents really do not matter in the end. the basic necessities and a warm fuzzy feeling is. well the basic necessities are dwindling and i has no warm fuzzies.
please stop bringing false hope and fueling children to ask for things that they should not have that can not be afforded. most the kids do not even believe in you anyway. they know that some strange old guy is not going to bring them hope wrapped in a box. "Father Christmas, give us some money, we don't want your silly toys." The Kinks have it right. i am trying to enjoy the simpleness of the season but the peace candle at the circle does not even warm my heart. it gives me a sinking, defeated feeling because as a human being i suck.
so you are the patron saint of children? you can resurrect them? well how about you take care of their spirits for once? resurrect their well being!
this is what i would like this year:
i want my job back. it was not much but i actually miss it. i might not have been making a difference but at least i could pretend i was.
a sewing machine. i need one.
i would like a Brownie. no, not the chocolate gooey, yummy kind. although they are good too. no i want a BROWNIE! or two to help keep the house clean. hey i have allergies and no motivation. i could use a hand with the cleaning and organizing.
that dowry would still be nice but no pickles....

i would like things to start working out.
fine, i concede, i can not have a reindeer cause i live in a city but i think you can be creative anyway. you owe me!
