Even though today we think of unicorns as horse creatures with a single horn on it's head traditional they also had billy goat beards, a lion's tail, and cloven hooves. They are said to be fierce and will only approach female virgins. It's horn is said to neutralize poisons. One legend says that unicorns do not exist today because Noak didn't put any on the ark during the great flood. Supposedly unicorns and elephants are natural enemies.
