Pigs
In Ireland there is a superstition that pigs can see the wind. Another superstition says that if they are scurrying around their sty or carrying straw in their mouth then a storm is on the way. It is also unlucky to have one cross your path. You are suppose to turn your back till it is gone. If it makes a whining noise it is a sign of death in the family. In Germany pigs are symbols of good luck. In northeast England fisherman considered pigs to be bad luck. They would not even utter the word of boats. St. Anthony is the patron saint of swine herds.
