With all the pollen in the air here is some things you should know about sneezing.

Many people believed the soul has located in the head. Sneezing was believed to be an omen from the soul. Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians saw sneezing as an oracle about future disaster or signs of good fortune. A sneeze to the right was lucky and a sneeze to the left was unlucky. Another superstition was that sneezing during a conversation proved the truth of a remark. Romans also believed that sneezing helped to rid the body of evil spirits.

One legend says that during old testament times people sneezed only once and died. Jacob interceded on behalf of human kind to put a stop to this law. The condition was added that "God bless you!" was said after every sneeze.

In Iceland another legends says that during an epidemic a brother and sister noticed that people were dieing after having sneezing fits. When they sneezed they explained,"God help us!" Because of this they were saved.

In some parts of Asia a sneeze is seen as a sign that someone is talking about you. In Indian cultures a sneeze before you begin to work was seen as a sign of a bad interruption.
