Today we will look at Septembers birthday stone, the sapphire.
This stones powers include inner peace and enlightenment. In ancient Persia it was believed that the reflection of blue sapphire that the earth rested on colored the sky. One ancient lore says that the Ten Commandments where written on sapphire stones. Kings wore the stones to protect against harm. The were said to repel envy and attract divine favor. The Cingalese believed that star sapphires protected against witchcraft. During the 18th century sapphire was used as a loyalty test for women. It was thought that it would change colors if the wearer were unfaithful. It is also suppose to help people find correct solutions to their problems.
