In honor of my little brother's birthday we shall discuss this month's birthstone. Today's topic shall be about the beautiful and rare ruby.

Rubies are said to have magical powers and were once worn by royalty as a talisman against evil. While in the hands of it's rightful owner it is said that it can be used as a warning signal against danger. The closer the threat is the darker it is suppose to get. It is said that a rubies' red glow comes from an internal flame that can never be extinguished. Therefore if it is given as a gift it is a sign of everlasting love. It is also a symbol of heat and power and is also highly connected to blood. Tossing a ruby into water is suppose to make it instantly boil. If you have a ruby ring wear it on your left hand. This is said to bring good luck to the wearer.
