Alsado beckoned applause from the empty audience. “Thank you, thank you.” None of this would be possible without Glacies here. Tonight, he is here purely for your entertainment. He is a puppet upon a stage.” I began to dance unwillingly. My head hung down, staring at the floor. “Ha ha! Glacies you do make me laugh! Shall I join you for a brief dance? Ah, well if you insist, but I know you must leave us soon.”
Alsado grabbed me about the waist and led me into a dance. He spun me, and taunted me. Several times he would step on my feet, as if he were a bad dancer. He danced with me as if we were young lovers, swinging me about the stage.
“Glacies, you truly are a character. Who would’ve thought the Ghost King would dance with the Ice King? Why is absolutely astonishing! But now Glacies, you must perform your final act. In fact! It’s a magic show! Quickly, bring her out!”
A girl dressed as a green fairy danced upon the stage. She also had strings attached to her, and a smile was almost literally carved on her face. She was smiling, but it was a painful smile. Her eyes screamed at me. I know her. I thought. But I couldn’t place her face.
“And now Ladies and Gentlemen!! A Magic Act!!! King Glacies will Saw this girl in half, and then he will swallow the blade!” Ohhs and Aahs sang from the audience. Applause erupted in my ears. A decorated box wheeled itself upon the stage. The girl climbed inside, crying now but still smiling. A saw floated down and my hands grasped it. “Now Glacies, Give them a show to die for!” I walked to the box, closed the lid, and began to saw.”
