Chapter 6! um..TADA!
Disclaimer: May the darker night protect you! (You already know the disclaimer)
Story so far: Kakashi just had this really weird dream and a equally weird encounter with a mysterious beautiful woman. How will he deal with it?
_____________________________________________________
Kakashi woke up with a start when he heard someone at the door. He put his mask back on and wiped the sweat that was drizzling down his forehead. He looked out the window and saw that the sky had turned dark and the stars were out. There were night vendors and many many pedestrians were out on the streets. Kakashi sighed. 'So it's already night huh? Guess that means we're staying here till morning.' the knocking became louder and Kakashi opened up the door in annoyance.
"What?"
"KAKASHI-SAMA! HOW IS RAVEN!!" A speeding blonde tanned..thing...came past as fast as lightning and settled next to the still sleeping Raven. Sakura and the rest of the gang came in and Kakashi closed the door. "It's okay. I got the poison out and she is making a full recovery. But she is still very weak so shut up Naruto."
Sakura looked at Kakashi questionly and walked over. "Better to be safe than sorry." She raised her hand and it glowed a orangish-red color. She rested the hand on Raven's forehead and from that point glided the hand over Raven's body, and inch away from her skin. Sakura shocked look was misinterpreted by Kakashi. "Don't tell me that all the posion is-"
"Gone?" Sakura interupted. She looked back at him and looked him directly in the eye. "What did you do exactly? She is completely free of the posion! There isn't a speck or drizzle in her!"
First there was relief that she was going to live, then shock. How could all the posion be gone? Without a trained healer on the scene the posion would stay in your blood but Raven didn't have any in her. If that was the case..."Then why is she still in that coma like state?" Kakashi voiced his thought and Sakura shrugged. "I don't know, maybe her body is healing itself."
Kakashi nodded but his visible eyebrow scrunched in thought. 'Or maybe it was that woman...' Sakura looked back at Raven and smiled. 'Thank god she isn't going to go die. I don't want to be the only 'sane' girl in this group. Talking about sanity, where is that princess anyway?' Sakura turned to the door that was shoved opened by a black-haired guy with eyeglasses. 'Speak of the devil.'
Maia walked in wearing her royal garb when she was inside and was flaunting it around. Not caring if Raven was in a coma. She waltzed over to Kakashi and gave him a peck on the cheek. "Hello dear! How do you like this? I changed directly once we got here and I thought--" She noticed that Raven was still sleeping and she walked over. At least she was acknowledging Raven Sakura thought as Maia leaned over her. She gave her a small no pain slap on the cheek like one would wake a sleeping child and looked over confused at Sakura. "Whats a mattah with her?"
Sakura shrugged. "Well, I don't know. I really don't. I'm thinking her body is healing itself because of the posion but--"
Maia waved a hand in front of Sakura's face. "Yeah, yeah okay! You can stop babbling! Now I want to know if we are staying here long because if all of you haven't noticed I'm on a very very tight schedule!"
Kakashi walked in front of Maia and stared her down with his visable eye. The b***h was making him want to use his mangekyo Sharingan on her but he fought down teh temptation. "Princess Maia. You know very well that we ninja are a group. We fight to together and stay together if one is wounded. We only move on if the wounded orders it or the leader does. I'm the leader." He leaned in on her. "And I order we stay. Any arguments?"
Maia, scared out of her wits, shook her head and he forced a smile. "Then go back to your suite with Sai and Naruto--"
"Why do I have to go?! I WANT TO STAY WITH RAVEN!"
"Sai AND NARUTO WHO WON'T COMPLAIN BECAUSE HE LOVES LIFE."
Naruto gulped and started to walk out with Sai. Kakashi sighed and continued. "Sai and Naruto like the good princess I know you are and stay there. Got it?"
Maia nodded and beconed Chima to her. They walked out leaving Sakura and Kakashi alone with a sleeping Raven. It was silent for a couple of minutes when Sakura stood up. She walked over to Kakashi and gave him a vial of a green liquid. "If she starts to shake or groan or spasm from pain give this to her. This will definitly destory all the posion in her if there is any left."
She walked out and Kakashi stopped her. "Where are you going?"
Sakura smiled. "I'm going to scout around to see if there is anyone here asking for the princess. I'll be right back."
She closed the door with Kakashi standing there. He felt slightly uncomfertable. How was he going to take out the time now? He has nothing to do. He took out his book and started to read but couldn't concentrate with Raven there. He opened a window a little bit to let some air into the stuff apartment and a breeze came through. It washed over Raven and sent a few of her hairs out of place. Kakashi put them back and smiled gently. Raven looked more like a child while she was sleeping than when she was awake with her goofy little smile. Her smile.
"Raven. Come on..please..wake up." He wanted to see her smile again.
Kakashi knew this was so cheezy, but he pulled down his mask and lowered his head down so that his lips were near hes. "Please."
He kissed her on the lips. A quick peck. It shouldn't have made him feel needy. Yet when he pulled away, he wanted more. For good measure he kissed her cheek and both eyes. He wanted more. He pulled himself away before he would rape the girl. He sat down (forgetting to put back up his mask) and rubbed her cheek. She was cold. For the first time in a long time, Raven moved. She leaned into his hand and murmured being cold. He smiled and sighed with relief. She was okay. He took in a breathe and he gave it a shot. "Raven? You there?"
Her eyes moved under their lids. "Kaka...kakashi? Scarecrow?"
Kakashi smiled. "Yeah..I'm here."
She opened her eyes and saw him without his mask on. She didn't care. He must have wanted her to see. She sat up and winced at the strain. "What happened to me?"
"You had posion in your system. We got it out and now you are here breathing and alive." She giggled at his joke. "Thank you very much."
He sat up and hugged her. "Your welcome." She sighed happily. "You're warm!"
Kakashi felt a memory come to him. Him young and a little girl in his arms, crying a little bit. Telling him the exact same thing. He shook his head and let go. "I would never let my comrades die. Got it?"
Raven nodded and her smile turned into a grin. "Or is there something more? Hmm?" Kakashi backed up. "Not even close."
She laughed hard. "Ahh I had to try." She looked around and sat down, indian style, on the bed facing Kakashi. "So where are we?" She smiled sweetly. "And why is your mask down? Hmm?"
Kakashi gasped and hurried to put his mask back on. 's**t!!' She instantly regretted saying anything. "OH MY GOD! YOU DIDN'T WANT ME TOO SEE?! OH s**t I AM SO SORRY!!" She covered her eyes and started to whimper. "You already did so much for me and I pry on your privacy and things that I don't need to know about! I'm SO SORRY!"
Kakashi shook his head. "No, it's okay. It was a slip up." Raven nodded. "If you say so." She looked out the window. "It's dark. We should leave. I want to get as far away from here as possible. We spent too much time here." She started lacing up her shoes and putting on her pack and weapons when Kakashi stopped her.
"What's the rush? You just woke up. Don't you need to recover your strength?"
Raven shook her head and patted Kakashi's. "Look. I'm fine. I really don't want to stay here any longer than we have too." She looked back out the window into the people-filled street. "I have a sickening feeling that the past is going to catch up with me. Very soon."
"What?"
Raven smiled. "Come on! Let's get the princess and head out." She walked off with Kakashi getting his backpack. 'Why is she in a hurry? What did she mean by the past?! And wasn't she in the least bit amazed that I'm that good looking under the mask? I mean lots of girls saw my face! Some fainted!! Is she really not that turned on by me?!' Kakashi did a pitiful little moan then caught himself. 'Wait? Am I wishing that she was?! I'M KAKASHI HATAKE! I shouldn't be turned on by a smart...sexy..blackish brown haired girl..with a good body and an a** that I could...GAH! I'M DOING IT AGAIN!' He hit his head a couple of times on the wall in front of him until he felt that his mind cleared. He shook his head just for good measure and caught up with Raven.
She slide open the suite doors and the princess's high voice could be heard even from where Kakashi was standing. "WHO DARES INTRUDE ON A PRINCESS?!"
Raven just smiled. "The same person who is protecting your life and wants to make sure that no one finds out that you are a princess. Hmm..but it seems you don't want that."
Sai smirked and Naruto laughed hard. The princess blushed from the sarcasm but quickly recovered. "Do you feel better?"
"Yes I do princess. Thank you for asking if you didn't really care."
The princess hmphed and looked back out the window. "Do we stay the night?"
Raven shook her head. "Sadly no. We must leave and cover the miles we lost because of me." The princess stared at her a little bit longer and looked away. "Fine then. We shall pack."
Kakashi was confused on the whole situation. Why was she being so coopertive with Raven. And what was with her eyes. They weren't filled with scrutiniy. Kakashi shook his head. While they were packing up their things Raven walked off with her wallet (one of many) to the first floor. Instead of asking he followed her. She paid for all the rooms and went back upstairs. She seemed to be in a rush.
"Okay? Everyone ready to go?" Raven smiled sweetly as they all stared at her as she rushed by. "Okay. That's good meet me outside. I'll contact Sakura." She disappeared again in a flash. They all stared at Kakashi who looked back sweatdropping. "Uh..what?"
"Kakashi-sama. Aren't you the one that is leading this? I mean..she just took over." Naruto was scratching his cheek in confusement. Kakashi sighed. "Just do what she asked!" He walked away again not wanting to wait for them and followed her back up to the roof. He found her sat indian style on the roof eyes closed her hands on her knees. She seemed like she was concentrating. He wanted to go to let her have some space but he couldn't go away. She looked...so..so in control. It was weird. He watched as she raised a chakra filled hand and sent splayed her hand in the air in front of her. The chakra spread out and streched. it stopped when it was the size of a children's waiting pool and just flowed from there. After awhile she opened her eyes and smiled. "Kakashi? You there? Why?"
Kakashi jumped a little but walked over to her and sat down next to her, also indian style. "Just wondering what you were doing." Pause. "What are you doing anyway?"
"Well, I just sent out a chakra encrypted message to Sakura to come back. She was already at the west gate if you want to believe that. Anyway now I'm checking around town." Kakashi cocked a silver eyebrow. She giggled. "Just to be safe."
Kakashi sat in silence as she worked her jutsu after she was done she sighed in relief. "No one. Good."
Kakashi gulped down and took up his courage before he asked. "Hey Raven. I want to know. Is it true?"
"Whats true?"
"You are a carrier of a tailed beast. Is it true?"
Raven looked at him for a bit and smiled sweetly. "Hmm. Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. But what I want to know is what made you ask?"
He looked away at the pedrestrians below. "Well. You are always so open about yourself but there always seems to be a rumor or a story about you. And it's known that if you carry a beast you healed amazingly fast. You were just injected with a deadly posion. I got some out but I know I didn't get all of it out. Then we find that you don't have anymore? That just doesn't happen."
Raven smiled disappeared and her eyes hardened a bit. Kakashi didn't notice. "I just want to know is all. But if you don't want to tell me. Well...too bad. You're going to have to tell me anway." He looked back and gulped again. She was glaring. "Oh?! And why should I!"
"You're a team mate aren't you?"
She looked away. "Just because I'm a teammate, a commrad, doesn't mean that I have to tell you anything."
Kakashi sighed. He knew this was going to happen. "Fine. Then..whats' up? You said you were the last of you're clan yet those men that ambushed us were also Katorin. Would you like to explain that?"
She glared at nothing as she looked away. "I was like..what..7 when it happened. I was strong for my age..too strong..so my parents asked if I could be part of their secret police...or what you ninja would call ANBU. Our village leader agreed and I was allowed to be tested. I passed. They let me in. The person that took me in was Chibo. He helped me show no fear in the enemy eyes. He said that I shouldn't feel anything..show any emotion. In the end I became what you see now. A happy ball sunshine that isn't afraid to show anythign to the enemy and the only thing I fear..is fear itself. Chibo said that I was the greatest ANBU in the league. The whole league. But I didn't know that I was part of a conspiracy."
"Conspiracy?"
"Chibo was going to perform a genjutsu on me and use me to destory our clan and myself. I found out when he carelessly left his office door open. It didn't matter though. I slept nice and soundly that night. We had a feista. It was my mothers and father's aniversary. The whole town had left it's guard down...I didn't go because I was too tired from training but I was planning on going out later when it was dinner. I woke up to the sight of blood and chaos. I found my mother and father the only ones left standing..my best friends bleeding to death. The rest of my family..dead. I ran to help them. I killed 5 with my hands and several more after that. Chibo laughed insanely when he lit the castle..my home...ablaze and ran off. We had won..but in all reality..we lost. Before he left though he hurt me...badly.." She took hold of her left shoulder the one that held the pheonix tattoo hard. "I didn't notice till I feel to my knee's..the world dizzy. I was finally dying."
"What?"
Raven immidately brightened up. "AHH! THERE'S SAKURA!" She stood up. "Oi! Kakashi sorry about that story. Too sad. Hehehe. Let's go." She hopped off the roof followed by Kakashi. She smiled normally as always and pointed to the south gate where they were close too. "TIME TO HEAD OUT!" The little caravan walked off and out of the village.
It was 1:00 am. All of them were tired but all wanted to keep moving. But at 1:30 Maia didn't care. She fell to the ground and panted hard. "Argg! Can't we find a cave or something? I don't care if I have to sleep on the ground! Just find me some shealter!"
Raven smiled gently at the fallen princess. "Look. We need to catch up on the distance that we lost becuase of me. I feel like it's my falut." Maia looked at her for a long minute then looked away. "Fine."
Raven nodded. "Good. Kakashi, carry Raven."
Kakashi, reading his Icha Icha, jumped at the order and frowned. "You carry her."
"Oh I do?"
"Yes."
-5 minutes later-
"You okay back there Princess?"
"Yes Yes I am!"
"How about you guys." There was a collective of moans sighs and one 'I'M DOING GREAT!' from Naruto. Raven nodded. "Good!" She sneered. "How about you Kakashi?" Silence. "Kakashi?"
"I'm doing swell."
"Glad to hear it!"
Kakashi whispered to Naruto. "I'm doing swell with all the pain I have in my back."
"What did you say?"
"NOTHING!"
"Okay." Naruto shook his head. "Well if you just said yes then she wouldn't have pinned you and started to take your back into submission."
Kakashi just humphed. Raven smiled brightly. "Hey guy's look! It's the sun! It's rising!" They all looked at the peak of the mountain they were closing into and saw a little bit at the ray's of sunshine coming out. "Great! And we don't have that long until we get to the town! Hehehe I'm so glad we have caught up and actually we are ahead of schedule. So we can rest for a day. Yep Yep!"
There was a chors of sighs of relief. Raven laughed. "Haha! You guys are wimps!" Then she got growls. "THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!" They all smiled unwillingly. Even Maia which she noitce to her displeasure. Soon after a couple hours they stopped at a ledge to see a town at the base of the mountain. Raven smiled. "There it is! The town of Watabi. I sigh. When was the last time I was here?...Wait..when was the last time I was here. Huh, oh well. I don't remember! AHH! I'm babbaling. Why don't we go on ahead to the town eh?"
She hopped on ahead with the rest of the gang trailing behind her. 'Jeez, I thought Naruto had a huge stamina but even he can't keep up very long.' Kakashi looked over at Naruto gasping for breath. Then he looked back at the teacher giving the princess a piggy back ride while she slept peacefully. 'Damn, he must have it harder.' He didn't show it but he could tell by how low his chakra is that he won't last much long. Kakashi changed his pace to be side by side by Chima. "Hey, do you want to switch? I can tell you won't last much longer."
Chima nodded. "Thank you."
"No problem."
He handed the princess gently and softly to the ninja. Chima sighed with relief and Kakashi smiled. "Well then. Let's catch up with them shall we?" Chima nodded and with a burst of whatever they had left, they sprinted off to Watabi. Kakashi shook his head. He knew this place. It was a town for slums, hoes, and anyone else in that area. Only the lowest of the low was in that town. Why did she pick this town? Of all the town's why this one?!

'Oh...that's why.'
Kakashi watched incredously as she drowned a full pitcher of water. she had finished a full 48 course dish in 5 minutes and she is still eating! She smiled at the cook. "Another round please!"
The cheif clearly liked that and nodded eargerly. If Kakashi knew that the cook wanted more money he would have thought he was just a nice old man liking the company and buisness. Chima was teaching the princess, who was now in more commener's clothes miracously, in the corner of the resturant. Sakura, Naruto, and Sai ate their food near where the eating storm was taking place but no enough to be in the not safe zone. They wanted their food. Kakashi wasn't eating and Raven noticed this. She lowed her head to her ear. "Don't worry. In the hotel room I'll be able to make you something." Without waiting for an answer she went back to the second serving. After this she was bound to be full and ready for bed. Kakashi smiled. She was too kind for her own good. Kakashi decided to take hold of the situation and walk over to the princess. "Princess how are your studies going?"
"They're going great Kakashi-kun, I mean, -Sama! Chima is a good teacher."
"That's good. How you holding out Chima?"
"I got food and water, now all I need is sleep."
"Haha, I hear ya. Well, if you want I can escort you back to your room."
The princess bounced up. "REALLY!!"
"Yep."
"Come on Chima let's go."
"Yes princess."
Kakashi walked over to the three kids. "Oi, you guys take a rest too, escort them back." It was true even though they were groaning. They couldn't even pick up their forks. They paid for their food and walked off after a brooding princess who hated being tricked and a teacher who looked about ready to fall over. When they were gone he sat next to Raven who already was done with her food. (That was 3 minutes if you wanted to know.) Kakashi paided for her food with much anger from Raven and led her out the resturant. "Aww..I wanted deseart!"
*****
"Ahh, Watabi definitly change form when I was last here. They are all..well kinda nice."
Kakashi looked at her incredously. "The people?"
"The bulidings and housing. A couple years back this place was a slump! A big crime lord must've gotten more money. Hmm..I wonder who." She licked her lips like a hunter stalking it's prey as she thought about it.
Kakashi noticed the look on her face. "Oi. No stealing while under leaf control." She made a playful pout.
"You guys always ruin my fun."
"Haha. I'm gonna take a shower." She yawned.
"Okay."
He stepped in and started up a shower letting the hot water soothe his aching body. He closed his eyes into the spray and sighed happily. He was never going to get the time to talk to Raven about her past. What she said before bothered him and he couldn't put his finger on it but he was getting the feeling she doesn't want to be followed, or more to the point, wants to lose the tracker. The only problem is..who is the tracker?
He got out after awhile and looked at himself in the mirror. He hadn't seen his face in a long time. It still looked the same, nothing was scared. Thanks to his mask. Kakashi stared at his always turned on sharringan eye and he closed it. He had copied his face enough times. He doesn't want to anymore. He took out new clothes he put on a bath rack near the shower and laid the dirty clothes in his pack and got out. He got out to smell fried onions, pork ribs and miso soup with fresh rice cooking in the kitchen. He found Raven stirring the miso soup humming the same song back when he first found her cooking for him but now there were words.
I am a question to the world
Not an answer to be heard
Or a moment
That's held in your arms
And what do you think you'd ever say?
I won't listen anyway
You don't know me
And I'll never be what you want me to be
Kakashi was mesmerized by her voice. It was very calm and cool and not forced. Unlike the songs that Sakura sometimes sings when she does. She screams or tries to hard and when she sang real high her voice broke and she sounded like a dying goose. Kakashi clapped. "Nice song." She jumped looked back at him startled.
"Ahh! I didn't notice you! I'm sorry." Kakshi waved a hand.
"You have a pretty voice. I didn't mind." He walked over at the food. "Can I eat that now?" He got slap on the head with a ladle as an answer. He took it and walked away with a pouting Raven behind him. "Patience!!" She smiled to his back as he sat down with a thump and a heavy sigh. Soon the food was distributed and set. Raven was ready to leave with her portion but was stopped by a gloveless hand.
"You can stay and eat with me. I don't mind." She stared at him with a little surprise.
"Really?" Kakashi nodded and she smiled the biggest brightest smile he had ever seen her smile. She sat down and said greetings then began to dig into her dinner. She didn't look up though when he took off his mask and began to eat too. It took Raven all of her nerve to just raise an eye to him. When she did she gasped. Kakashi was really handsome. She giggled and he arched an eyebrow. "What?" She giggled some more.
"Is that why you cover your face? So you won't mess up that cover boy looks of your's?" She laughed a little more. "Aww! Does the fearsome Kakashi of the Sharingan have a wittle fetish?" Kakashi's face pinkened to that comment but looked away.
"No I don't. I just don't want the enemy to see my face. Is that such a problem?" Raven shrugged.
"Who knows. But all I have to say is thanks for doing this." She grinned. "You must really trust me don't ya?!" He nodded and she pratically jumped from joy. Once she settled down again they ate in a comfertable silence until Raven stopped suddenly and looked up at Kakashi. "If you an do this then so can I!" She jumped up and breathed in and out in deep breathes swinging her arms back and forth in time with the breathes. "What we were talking about earlier," She answered his questionable look. "I'll tell you. The full story of my ******** up childhood."
