Troubled minds fading
looking for ways to escape
counting down the days
thoughts and feelings reshape
a pleasant but lonely smile
brightening the darkened rooms
wiped away from the sadness
hearts locked in concrete tombs
a soft whisper to nothing
heard by no one that sees
now breathless for the last days
people with their soon to bes
as the heart travels on
the eyes become a window
an emotionless look everywhere
seeing sad colors of indigo
trembling hands feeling around
looking through motions of touch
but we stay fading
for there isn't much
