Forever seems like quite a long time
Looking back now, I realize
Just how quickly the days went by
The despair claws to the surface
Almost every night
After I begin to close my eyes
Familiar warmth disintegrates
Invisibility takes hold
Why is that I can't feel you
When I know in My Heart
You lay beside me?
I will dream of you tonight
The familiar face I have memorized
When sleep takes hold of me
So will you
I wait...
It seems endless and hopeless
Exhaustion climbs in
I begin to feel the length of your body
Laying at my side
Our feet playing games
Breathing in sync
Your arms wrapped protectively around me
The heat of Our passions
Warming this cold bed once again
And when I finally fall asleep
The sound of your heart beat
Invades my dreams
I feel comfort
I feel peace
I feel Love
I dream of you
Soon after
Morning light breaks the darkness
I smile
Still feeling your being
I open my eyes
Expecting the face I memorized
But I no longer see you
And the bed turns cold
The day exhausts me
I crawl in bed to find you
Again and again
It's a sin to kill a mockingbird
But I know in My Heart
No matter where you are
Our Love will Never die.
