Growing Strength


Elena could barely walk. She was following Division 4 back to their division so they could heal Kenpachi. Yachiru was in her arms. They prayed that death was not the reason he stoped moving.

Ikkaku and Yumichika were sitting on one of the balconies of the division when they saw their captain. Ikkaku looked away. Yumichika stared in disbelief. Elena saw them she couldn't help but to lower her allready sad eyes.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Shikru. You can't follow us any longer." Isane told her in a calm voice.

"B-But-"

"I'm sorry , but I just can't allow you to be in there while he heals." Isane lowered her eyes as she closed the door on Elena's face.

Elena stared at the door. Her hand balled onto a fist and didn't let go. Tear stung her eyes.

"Elena." Elena jumped when she heard Ikkaku's voice. She turned. "I can barely sense his spirit energy. Don't worry. Even though he was defeated, it would take alot more to kill our captain. You should know that better then an of us."

Elena sat next to them and laid her head down on Yumichika's lap. Tears continued to pour.

"I wish Ela-chan would stop crying." Yachiru pouted. "I think I'm going to leave untill Kenny gets better.Is that okay. Ela-chan?"

Elena nodded and listened to her footsteps go away. "Our division is falling apart....isn't it?" Elena whispered.

Yumichika sighed. "I don't think so. The captian is still fighting right now. He's fighting to live so he can fight Ichigo again. Some how. I think in the end, all we can do is pray."

Ikkaku nodded. "He better live." he clinched his hand. "I am the one who will kill him."

Elena hugged Yumichika's waist and started to cry again. Yumichika petted her head and tried to relax her. "This is not beautiful. I don't like seeing you cry."

Ikkaku snorted. "It's hard to believe but I feel the same way."

Elena chuckled between her sobs. "You two are such dorks."

Ikkaku and Yumichika chuckled. Their division seemed to grow stronger in a way. It was as if from being close to death and allmost losing something it had made the stronger. Hopefully for them, the strength they would gain would help them on what is to come. They all felt it in that little time. Something big was about to happen. Elena could feel it more then anyone in that room.
