Navy + Crappy s**t
So for those who don't know, I am in the Navy.
My date for boot camp was in August but I recently got a call saying it would be in May.
Now, I got the call last wednesday and since there are only maybe 2.5 weeks left I rushed to make preparations. Put in my two week notice at my job, let everyone online know, let all my friends know, upped my PT, etc.
Now I get a phone call that it might be in June instead, even after I had already made sure with my recruiter MULTIPLE TIMES that it was in fact May. And he said, MULTIPLE TIMES "Yes, it is DEFINITELY may."
And then today he calls me and says all my paperwork got kicked back because I had not taken a drug test. So I rushed there today to pee in a cup so they could send me off in May (But really I'm going to be pessimistic here and say it's going to be June).

They could never give me an actual date because they "didn't have one" and that "maybe" they would have a date "soon". But because of this drug test s**t, the whole process has to start over. So now I won't know what date I'm going until later than "soon". -rolls eyes-

But the point here is that this is not the first time something like this has happened. I'm just going to go outright and say it here: My recruiter's a dumbass and if I weren't 100% deliberate in joining the Navy specifically I would've gotten my a** out long a go and joined another branch, because obviously The navy (or at least my recruiter) is incompetent.

Regardless, I'm still going to joint he Navy so if I'm jobless for another few months I know I'm going to suck it up and leave with it because I really want in and no amount of someone else's stupidity is going to stop me from achieving that. So I'm not going to rant about the Navy forever.

For MONTHS I've had a problem with my toe. I thought I stubbed it at least 3 months a go but probably more like six, because it was red and swollen. The toe would throb every now and then but the pain wasn't a huge deal so I ignored it. As time went on I noticed my toenail wasn't growing at all and the swelling was getting worse. I thought it'd solve itself eventually so I continued to ignore it, until two weeks a go the pain got substantially worse in a short amount of time for seemingly no reason.
I had my mom look at it and she had me soak it twice a day in peroxide. This provided temporary relief but the swelling and redness still got worse as did the pain. We made an appointment for a doctor but the closest time was a week from then and about 3 days later the pain got to be too much so we went to urgent care instead.
"Oh my GAWD!"
Those were the words from the nurse. xD Not very professional, eh?
Anyway the doctor came in and said it was cellulitis, an infection under the skin, shot me with antibiotics and gave me some horsepills and said that in a week it should clear.
Well the pain lowered back to what it was before it randomly got worse but otherwise nothing else improved-- swelling was more prominent as was redness and my toe began drain puss every now and then (but not much).

Made another appointment with the doctor and when we went to them she said it was still bad and if it were an infection it should've been completely gone by now and that I needed to see a podiatrist(someone who specializes in only feet, not to be confused with pediatrician).
Three days later (today) I see them and THEY say that there's an infection in my nail bed (something akin to a pimple I would guess) and that because the nailbed is so small there's nowhere for all the puss to go and so... Long story short he removes my entire toe nail, clears all the puss out and says "Yeah that was definately it, it looks better already". Tells me to soak my foot twice daily in epsom salts and give me a special boot and wraps my toe up.
Says it should be better in 2 weeks.

Ughhhh I really don't care about the whole missing toenail thing. What I DO care about though is the fact that now I'm in more pain than ever, AND I still have 1.5 weeks left to work. And I am on my feet ALL DAY. >___<

My boss is mad enough that I randomly put in my 2 weeks notice.
I'm sure he'll be less than stellar to see that now I can't even work very productively for my last weeks.

But I do hope that, by whatever time I leave for basic, this is all cleared up because I DO NOT want to be stuck in the med wing for basic. OH MY GOD.

My boss refused my two week notice. XD Instead, I'm on an educational leave of absence or something like that. I guess they really don't want to have to train another person. So, when I come back in January, I'll still have my old job.

I'm sorry that your recruiter is an idiot. ;.; I hope things go more smoothly once you finish basic. I would hate it if my date for leaving changed constantly. XP

Is it in your big toe? It might be gout.

Also, your recruiter must be either new or an a**. I hope they set up a final date soon.
