Chapter 2
“How long have you been there…..Anviar?” The guy asked toward the trees standing up his back Anviar, stepping from the shadows of the trees, a dark mocking smile on his face. “Took you long enough Garth, I was worried you lost your touch.” Garth glared at this comment returning the dark smile with his own. Anviar’s eyes looked down at Jacxie’s sleeping form, her straight hair was lying around her face, and her dark shadowed eyes were closed. “Let me see her Garth.” Anviar said his face emotionless, Garth nodded and they began to circle around the clearing until Anviar was next to Jacxie he kneeled down next to her and looked at her, gently moving some of her hair away from her neck, a small relived sigh escaped him when he saw that the skin of her neck was unbroken and clear. He picked her up. “She’s so light.” Anviar thought a small smile playing itself across his handsome face. He walked her over to an old, strong oak and laid her gently in the soft grass. Jacxie stirred slightly but didn’t wake; Anviar moved a strand of hair away from her face and kissed her forehead. “I won’t let him hurt you Jacxie, I promise.” He whispered and he stood up and turned to Garth his smile gone.
And Anviar lunged.
Garth dodged out of the way despite his large size with unheard of speed, as Anviar shot past turning his body in a back flip in time to land on the side of a tree and again launching himself at Garth flipping himself over Garth in another back flip and kicking hard at Garth’s back and sending Garth forward into the ground with amazing force.
Garth brought his hands down in front of him forcing himself into a strong backhand spring, once landed he positioned his legs to jump back at Anvair. His left fist was back while his right forward, his intention was to kill.
Anvair quickly side stepped avoiding Garth’s powerful punch, it broke the earth around them forcing up slabs of rocks, and Garth used this to his advantage. He spun around swinging one of the larger pieces of earth at Anvair. Anvair quickly crossed his arms to block the pieces of rock, from the momentum he is heralded back towards one of the trees. Once his back made contact with the tree there was a huge cracking sound both from the tree breaking and Anvair's back breaking from the force.
Garth jumped at Anviar while Anviar was still healing. Garth forced fist down into Anvair's face making a small crater in the ground as Anviar’s head slammed into the ground.
Anvair's head was in dulling pain, he knew had to do something as he quickly glanced over to where Jacxie was still laying screaming at himself. “I won’t let him hurt you Jacxie!” “I won’t!”
As Garths fist came down for another hit Anviar quickly brought his legs up and kicked them against Garths chest and with absolute force he kicked Garth up 10 feet into the air.
Anviar stood up in a blur of motion and as Garth came down swung his right leg hitting Garth’s rock hard stomach throwing him towards the trees. Garth crashed through the first tree he hit, breaking it in half and as it slammed to the ground Garth then slammed into a second tree then he fell to the ground, creating an imprinted dent in the ground.
Garth struggled to get up but Anviar was too quick for him and raced at Garth and jumped at him bringing his fist down on the back of Garth’s head, Garth’s head broke into the ground sending small, thin spider web cracks across the ground 12 feet around the two. Anviar stood over Garth and with the tip of his tennis shoe flipped Garth over onto his back; Garth opened his eyes slight groaning at the dull throbbing pain that corset through him, looking up at Anviar.
Anviar bent in almost bow and in a voice, almost sad voice that was barely a whisper and said “I won.” And Garth closed his eyes and blacked out.
Once Anviar was sure Garth was out completely. He walked over to where Jacxie laid, carefully picking her gently off the soft ground and into his arms as the first rays of the sun hit his back. And Anviar walked away from the broken ground of the clearing, from the broken down trees, and from Garth’s still unconscious, form, and with Jacxie warm in his arms.
And in the distance bangs can be heard.
