So, I'm attempting to do the impossible! What is it, you may ask. Well, I've got to raise $12,500 by September 1st of this year. I will not be getting any assistance from my parents in the realm of money (we're not exactly rich... Example - the government pays for my lunches. ), and I'll have to garner up enough money through hard work, determination, and scholarships. In essence, I will have to prove myself capable before I want to get anywhere near my goal.
I mean, I have doubts. I struggled to raise a mere $250 for a Nintendo Wii, and that's only 1/50 of what I need to earn now. But, I did it by selling candy and soda to students in my school, all the while avoiding administration, as it was "against the rules." I didn't see it in the student code of conduct... Anyways, I have a large amount of money I need to get, and even with the job I'm planning on getting, I'll only get roughly 1/10 the amount that I need over the summer, assuming I'm paid minimum wage, 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. So, I'll need to raise over $10,000 dollars through outside sources. So, yeah... I have my doubts.
But, I really want to get involved in a program like the foreign student exchange. I've never really thought about it before this week, but as soon as I heard of it, did research, and talked to people, it just seems to have taken over. I must do this, I tell to myself. Even if its just for a unique and new adventure, I need to do this.
By doing this, I'll sacrifice a lot of things. I'll miss my last year to participate in HOSA as a high school student. I'll miss Prom at my own school. I won't even be able to graduate with all my friends. I'll be missing a lot of memories... But, I'm resolute on doing this. As I've said before, and I'll be saying to myself in the future, I will do this! 3nodding
