Well, perhaps not the season one thinks about when one spouts that phrase from countless orifices, the one I am more than happy to see ending, but of the one after that. I don't mean to say that I don't like the jolly Christmas season, as I am quite fond of the general feeling of human tranquility and family togetherness to a point. I don't know, I guess I'm the kind of person that thinks the "12 days of Christmas" should be taken literally then issued as a law. As for Christmas music, this year it was classified along with today's hip-hop and 80s music as the noise that they use to drive the people playing Game Cube in the vending machine room absolutely insane.
Everyone seems to be planning or actually setting into motion a sort of timely review discussing the key points in a recent period of time of their choosing. Well, why not play lemming and follow the stampeding rodents of the proverbial cliff. (lemmings are a type of rodent, right?)
This was my semester: 1. Took classes that required way to much time, effort, and thought to be considered "electives." 2. Spent time in previously stated vending machine room drinking soda and playing Game Cube. 3. Avoided certain individuals in the Student Union like the Black plague. 4. Returned home to computer, video games, and a ridiculously small amount of anime.
All in all, this was quite and unsatisfactory semester. Which is strange because I usually find a lot of comfort in my classes and playing GC in the SU. Also a friend of mine spend most of a year avoiding people in the SU and had a grand old time, but I guess it's to each his own. Internet did not hold it's usual comforts for me as well, and I may consider giving it up almost entirely. I suppose my most obvious New Year's resolution would be to actually do something productive with my time from now on, such as working out, reading, and maybe socializing a bit more. That seems to be what everyone else is seeking and finding comfort in, so why not give it a try. Well, here's to fresh beginnings and old standards.
