My sailor Love
"My heart is pierced by Cupid, I disdain all glittering gold,
There is nothing that can console me but my jolly sailor bold."
A young maiden stood at the dock watching as the crew load the large ship with supplies to get ready for its long voyage. With a soft sigh the young maiden turns her back and starts to walk when she heard the familiar voice. With a smile she turned and saw him."Thought you could leave with out saying goodbye?" He asked as he walked up to her. She laughed softly and shakes her head." Of course not...And its not like your going to be gone long.. you did say only a few month." She replied. The young sailor nods his head and smiles."You are correct..And I promise you when I return I'll be rich and I promise l will come back for you and we'll get married.. No matter what your fathers says.But now I must go. So please wait for me Kira"He said then gives her a soft kiss on the cheek before walking on to the ship and going out to see.She watched the ships sail away and smiles." I'll wait for you my love." She whisper softly before turning away.
The young maiden went back to the dock every time she heard news that a ship was coming in to dock. Not knowing what ship it was but hoping it was the one that her sailor was one.. But each time it wasn't and each time she went home with a broken heart. Those few month became a year with hurricane weather and news of many ships going down to waters below. She feared that his ship went down as well. And in totally five years has past and the sailor has not returned.
"And firmly pray, arrive the day, he home will safe return."
She walks through the village carrying a basket that contained some bread and other things to make for dinner that night. When she arrived back to her home her mother came running up to her."Kira! We have such wonderful news."she said grabbing her daughter and taking her quickly inside and towards her father.
"what is the news that you have?"She asked her parents with a soft laugh.
"O! Kira your father found a rich young lad to be your husband!" Her mother said happily.
Kira stared at her parents in disbelief" What do you mean you've found me a husband??" She asked as she watched her mother walk over to Kira and grabs her basket and puts it on the kitchen table.
" Just what we said.. Dear your twenty one now.. and it's time for you to settle down." her father said." That boy you had a crush on when you were seventeen.. Probably went out to sea to a different land and found another girl.. I warned you.. You can't trust a sailor."
A teared rolled down her cheek softly and she shakes head as a few more tears run down her face." You're lieing! He said he'll come back!He promise!" she cried wiping her tears away.
" Stop Kira! You're to old for this! Now wash up and go out side! Your husband to be is waiting to meet you!" Her father yelled standing up and walk out front toward the barn.Kira listen and washed her face and forced herself to stop crying as she walked out back to meet the man that wants to marry her.
