Believe First Interlude

(July 19, 2011 Tuesday A.D.)

We went on the train and saw all of it's wondrous glory. Flashes of different places and times went outside the window. There were so many things we've never seen before... Whether they were in the ancient past or the distant future.
Kokoro: "Wow... Everything is so pretty here!"
Atama: "You said it! I think maybe I should write all of this down soon... I just hope people will believe in it."
Tamashii: "Heh, kids... Always getting so excited. Then again, Mikomi would probably get this excited too."
Kokoro: "Whose Mikomi?"
Tamashii: "Oh, just a friend. It really is beautiful in here though..."
Shintai: "Am I really awake right now? Or is this all a dream?"
???: "*Giggles* Yes, you are."
Shintai: "Whoa! Don't sneak up on us like that!"
???: "Aw, I'm sorry! How this is all real though is pretty hard to explain. I guess you could say if you believe in something hard enough, it can come true... Anyways, I hope you all enjoy your stay here! Oh, and just so you know, some people can never find a place to call home, so they just stay on this train."
Kokoro: "*Gasps* Really?! That's so sad!"
???: "It's okay. They actually seem pretty happy here. Maybe you guys should go talk to them some time."
Kokoro: "Okay, we'll think about it."
???: "Okay, bye now!"
She then left to wherever she came from. I assumed she was the one controlling the train, but she left for a while to come talk to us. I wonder if she has magical powers like we do.
It was time for introductions though. I thought all of us should at least know each others' names... But I was so nervous...
Kokoro: "Ah... um... I... I'm Kokoro Kanjoo. I have water and healing powers, so if anyone's hurt, you can count on me. I'll be sure to help out."
Tamashii: "Alright then. You don't have to be so shy! Would anyone like to go next?"
Atama: "Um... I'm Atama Chie. I have wind and psychic abilities. I hope to be a very valuable ally."
Tamashii: "Alright, I guess I'm next. I'm Tamashii Ishi. I have power over fire and clairvoyance. I can sense the true nature of a person's soul to seek out imposters. I promise not to let anyone down."
Shintai: "I'm Shintai Chikara. I'm a really tough warrior with earth skills and iron muscles! If magic isn't enough, you can always count on me! I promise to defeat any enemies in our way in no time!"
Kokoro: "So whose the leader?"
Atama: "Well, I'm the smartest I think. I should be able to plan battle tactics."
Tamashii: "Well, I can sense true evil, so I think it should be me."
Shintai: "Well, I'm the oldest AND the strongest, so I think it should be me."
Kokoro: "I think we're all equal in our own way. I know I'm only ten, but... maybe it could be me. I feel like I'm the kindest, and I can try to help people have a change of heart. We all need to believe in ourselves and others. None of us can do this alone. We are all connected and need to work together."
Tamashii: "Wow... That was beautiful... How were you raised so well?"
Kokoro: "*Blushes* Oh! Um... I guess it's because of my parents and my best friend are very nice. I also got taught some kind of wisdom by this unusual creature that gave me my powers."
Atama: "Same here, with the powers and all, but I think we should discuss that later. First, I just want to say... I don't even have any parents..."
Kokoro: "*Hugs and cries* Aw...! I-I'm so sorry to hear that!"
Atama: "It's okay. I got a best friend too at least, so I'll be okay."
Kokoro: "R-really?"
Atama: "Yep."
Tamashii: "Well, I was adopted. I need to find my real parents."
Shintai: "My parents are terrible. They don't care if I have to work myself to death every day. Every day I have to try and build... something. They won't even tell me that. You seem like you have it so easy... What's hard about your life?"
Kokoro: "*Sniffles* No... I actually have it rough too. I used to be very poor. I guess I still am pretty poor... I know my parents are still poor at least. I used to get so little to eat... It's a miracle I'm still alive..."
Tamashii: "Um... So what did everyone learn when you got your powers?"
Kokoro: "I was told that everyone in the world is the same, that we're all human and we shouldn't fight each other."
Atama: "Mine was similar but it was on an economical scale. If we work together, we could do anything! WE could even find the cure for all sorts of diseases. Maybe that's what we could even do for the monsters."
Tamashii: "Well, what I learned was that even monsters need to be treated with care, so I think that should be an option we can consider. The whole world needs to be in perfect harmony."
Shintai: "Well, I was told that people like me can rule the world if my heart is pure."

(July 21, 2011 Thursday A.D.)

Atama: "Rule the world...? Really...? I thought that was a bad thing."
Kokoro: "That sounds scary..."
Tamashii: "How pigheaded..."
Shintai: "Hey, it's not so bad! Haven't you ever wanted to take charge and change things, but like, everything? I want to make the world a better place too..."
Atama: "Hm... Well that would be really hard... You've got to have some brains with the brawn you know."
Shintai: "I've got brains. I think..."
Atama: "*laughs* You can't just think, you have to know!"
Tamashii: "Alright guys, that's enough. Is there anything else we should discuss?"
Kokoro: "Um, well... I didn't think it was possible to befriend monsters, but I'll try that. I don't like fighting very much..."
Tamashii: "Thanks! That's very sweet of you."
Kokoro: "Aw... It's nothing! *Blushes*"
Shortly after we were done talking, that pretty lady came to check up on us.
???: "Hey guys! How are you'll doing?"
Kokoro: "We're doing good!"
???: "Great! By the way, time passes by quickly on this train, so it's already almost night. You can talk to some people or change seats if you want. You'll can even couple up and have some private time before going to bed. *giggles*"
Tamashii: "B-but we're not dating!"
???: "Oh, I'm sorry... I was just trying to be cute and romantic."
Kokoro: "No, it's okay. I understand how you feel... I'm sorry if we're not dating. We should probably move like she said though. It is getting pretty crowded in here."
Tamashii: "Oh, alright... but whose moving?"
Shintai: "We'll move to the other side. Let's go Atama."
Atama: "Me with you? Alright... Good night guys."
Tamashii: "Good night."
Kokoro: "Night!"
The passage of time was slowing down and the images started to become dark... Everything started to look all romantic. Tamashii looked at me all nervous and embarrassed looking as if there was a secret she wanted to tell me.

(July 29, 2011 Friday A.D.)

Tamashii: "Um... Kokoro?"
Kokoro: "Yes? What is it?"
Tamashii: "Do you think it's possible to like girls? Like, go out with them and kiss them?"
Kokoro: "Huh?! Oh, um... I don't know. I never thought about it before... Why do you say that?"
Tamashii: "Well, in the middle of my journey, I took a break with my friend Mikomi in this Oasis. You see, we live in a desert where it's very hot. It's a place where there's a lot of plant life and a pond or lake of sorts in the middle. I don't know why there are oases, but it's a miracle that it was there or we might not have made it. Anyways, we bathed it in... n-naked... and I couldn't help but be attracted to her."
Kokoro: "Oh my! *Blushes* Well... You must really like her."
Tamashii: "I do. But she's really different from me... She's really outgoing and she likes boys. But I don't like boys very much..."
Kokoro: "Really? How come?"
Tamashii: "Because most boys seem like Shintai. Reckless and scary."
Kokoro: "Oh, I see... I'm sure Shintai has a good heart though, or else he wouldn't have made it this far."
Tamashii: "Well, I guess that's true..."
Kokoro: "What about Atama though? He seems pretty nice."
Tamashii: "I suppose so... Well, we'll just have to wait and see how everything will work out."
Kokoro: "Well, I have a secret to tell you too..."
Tamashii: "What is it?"
Kokoro: "I really like my friend Ai like you might... but I'm not sure how much she likes me..."
Tamashii: "Oh, really? That's very interesting."
Kokoro: "Yeah... You seem really nice too. I'm sure all four of us will get along great!"
Tamashii: "*Giggles* You're so optimistic! Well, we should probably go to bed now. Good night Kokoro."
Kokoro: "Good night Tamashii."
On the other side, Shintai also had a confession to make.
Shintai: "Hey Atama, can I tell you something?"
Atama: "Sure, what is it?"
Shintai: "Hm... How should I explain this? I had a friend once named Suru. Me and him we're going to run away, but for some reason a group of kids violently attacked us and I think he died..."
Atama: "Oh.. I'm so sorry to hear that..."
Shintai: "Yeah... He was my best friend... The only person I ever truly cared about. You know, I think I might have... liked him, liked him... You know, like a boyfriend, even though I'm a guy."
Atama: "Oh, uh... *blushes* Really? I didn't think that was possible... but then again, there are many things that all of us don't know about."
Shintai: "Like this train woman's name? Ah ha ha ha... I suppose that's true. Anyways, he seems to like girls like most people do. I don't know if I like girls though..."
Atama: "How come?"
Shintai: "Well... A lot of them are so sensitive, and aren't as strong as guys are. Some of them are also either hating guys like Tamashii, or really cheerful and happy like Kokoro, even if their my age. It's just hard to handle all of that emotion, you know?"
Atama: "I guess that makes sense. I've never really talked to girls, so I wouldn't know, but I really liked my friend Yuuki. I wouldn't have made it this far without him. But then... I made it to the city on my own, so I'm not sure anymore... but I think I heard someone like our friends have to stay behind and protect the town we live in, so I don't think your friend is dead. Maybe he's just really hurt..."
Shintai: "I suppose so... I'm still worried about all of you by the way. I know you all have powers like me, but you're still just kids, and you'll all younger than me too."
Atama: "I'm sure everything will be just fine Shintai. We made it this far, right?"
Shintai: "I suppose that's true... Well, good night."
Atama: "Good night."
In the morning, a ball of light appeared before us and we got transported to another world.
