Selections from an RP with Sacrificedrums
Jerrah began going over finger placements again. It was her version of a nervous tick. "Yeah." she said with a smile. "So what else is there to do in town?" She asked trying not to let an awkward silence settle in.

He chuckled. "Actually not really. Its a hella boring town." He laughed.
Jerrah chuckled. She found his comment funny. "Hella boring...Sorry, I've just never heard someone say that before."
"Really? You'll hear a lot like that round here."

"Actually, I've never said anything remotely close to a cuss word." She said sheepishly. "I know, I'm lame." He laughed.
"So you were raised a goody two shoes?"
"I was raised with money. I had people to do things for me, though I usually just did things myself. I had a performance at least five times a week so I never had time for anything, not even to speak."

"Damn. That's not even cool."
"That's what I'm used to." she said with a sigh.
"That totally just sucks fun outta life."
"Music is my life so I've never minded too much I guess. I mean I"ve been playing the cello since I was five."

Jerrah looked up with a hint of tears in her eyes. She had reminded herself of her father. He looked back at her with a more concerned look on his face. "You ok?"Jerrah wiped her eyes. "Yeah, sorry. Just, I've been thinking about quitting music. Now that father's gone it's like my drive is gone too." "Oh." He placed a hand on her shoulder.

At the touch of his hand, Jerrah broke down. Her head in her hands, the tears that had been threatening to break loose from her soft green eyes, began to fall. She couldn't control them any longer. His eyes widened slightly. But his automatic response was to wrap his arms around her into a gentle embrace. He didn't want to see her cry.

His arms went around her, but she didn't protest. She couldn't find the words to say that she would be okay, because she knew that right now she wouldn't ever be ok. Her entire world had spun out of control, in a spiral downward direction destined to smash into the ground with the force of an atomic bomb. But Josh was there for her, and he didn't even know her. Could there possibly be hope for her life? Slowly, Jerrah's tears began to halt, and she noticed that he smelled good. She inhaled deeply his scent, and she realized that she felt protected somehow in his arms.

He gently rubbed her back as he held her to him trying to help her calm down. He noticed her tears slowing. Soon she finished crying, and began to wipe her tears from her now tear stained face. One or two tears managed to find their way out of her eyes, and slowly streak down her face, but she barely noticed. "I'm sorry." She said embarrassed. He still held his arms around her. "Its ok." He smiled at her.

"No, I really should have more control over my emotions. My father raised a lady, not a woman who can't control her life and emotions." She said upset with herself.

"Your only human. You cant have complete control over your emotions all the time. Your have to let them flow. Especially if your a musician. "
"So you think I should continue playing?" Jerrah asked him, her eyes sparkling, the sunlight glinting off her tears.
"Do love playing?"
"More than anything."
"Then it's what you should do. As long as it's what makes you happy."
"You're right." she said quietly. "Father would want me to continue on."

He smiled looking at her tear streaked face. He reached a hand up and wiped away the tears that were still on the right side of her face. Jerrah closed her eyes as he wiped away the few remaining tears. She'd never been shown this type of kindness. Her life had gone by so fast with out the normal throes of childhood, and growing up. She'd never had friends other than the other musicians in the many symphonies that she'd played in. Her father had been the only man in her life other than her uncle, but she never saw much of him until now.

"You're so kind. Thank you for being the one to take the time to listen."
