Woo hoo! More with Jericho and Keegan. =]
“Wake up! Come on Jericho! You too Keegan! We’re having the squirt gun war today! Let’s go!” one of the counselors screamed into our door. I groaned and rolled over. I felt someone sit on my bed, I was pretty sure it was Jericho, but I wasn’t sure last night really happened. I flipped over and opened my eyes slowly, it was very bright out. “Same time tonight?” Jericho asked with a wink. I blushed bright red and smiled, so it did happen. I got up and changed into a pair of my swimming trunks. I pulled a comb through my hair but didn’t bother to do much with it considering it was a squirt gun war. I came out of our small bathroom and saw Jericho sitting at the table with his sketch pad. He was in black swimming trunks with white paint splatters randomly splattered around. He had his hair combed in his face and he looked up when I sat at the table noisily. “They blamed it on Amanda and Mark.” He said smiling. “Did we leave our pants there?” I asked curiously. Jericho nodded, his foot brushing mine. “Let’s go! We’re picking teams!” another counselor poked her head in. Jericho jumped up and took my hand, running us out the door. We got to the others just as a couple of other people were, he did let go of my hand but he didn’t leave my side. “Alright. We need captains.” Marlon said, scanning the group. It was a popularity contest, always was. “Molly, you’ll be team 1’s captain. And, Brian, you’ll be team 2.” Marlon said and the two stepped to either side. I tried to make it as clear as possible that me and Jericho didn’t want to be separated but it didn’t work. I ended up with Molly, Jericho with Brian. They handed me this industrial squirt gun. It was blue, the trigger was yellow. It was shaped like an actual gun and it worked like one too. They filled me up and positioned me in the back. “Ready? Set? BATTLE!” Marlon screamed and it was like an angry mob with squirt guns. I tried my best to stay out of the line of fire, but I ended up getting shot way too many times. After people lost interest in shooting me, they attacked each other. I wandered around, hanging the gun on my finger not really watching anyone. Suddenly someone grabbed my hand and pulled me around the corner. I dropped my gun on the way and Jericho pushed me against the side of a log building. I smiled and peeked around the corner, the anarchy continued. “Come on.” Jericho said and laced his fingers in mine. We ran for a little bit, but then we slowed to a walk. “I didn’t think they would miss us too much.” Jericho said, pulling me closer to him. “Nah, the war will continue.” I said, looking around at all the trees. “I want to show you something. Come this way.” Jericho said and turned up a hill. It took forever to get up the mountain sized hill but I liked it. We talked the entire time. About everything, likes, dislikes. Past relationships, the whole shebang. I was almost panting when we got to the top and Jericho pulled me the extra step. I did lose my breath this time. It was just as beautiful as our lake, if not more. The sun was high up in the sky, surrounded by blue and fluffy white clouds. We were on a small cliff looking down on the lake. The lake was a lot bigger than I thought it was. There was a tree on the cliff we were on, and a bench. The bench was clearly older than dirt, but it was sturdy. “I come up here all the time to draw. One of the photography kids showed it too me.” Jericho said, letting go of my hand. He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and took in the scenery just as I was. “It’s breathtaking.” I whispered. “Come sit with me.” Jericho said and pulled me over to the old bench. He sat down and I sat at his side. We sat there, hand in hand, just staring at the beautiful view for a while. But the silence was broken when Jericho said my name. I looked at him. His blue eyes were bluer than I’d ever seen them, and he set his hand on my jaw. We both leaned in at the same time and pressed our lips to each others. He moved mine in synch with his, it was perfect. I thought I was going to melt.”Jericho?!” someone screamed. “Keegan?!” someone else screamed from a different area. We pulled away unwillingly. “I guess we should get back.” I said with a sigh. Jericho nodded and took my hand. We ran down the mountain hill and literally crashed into Brian. “Where were you Jericho?” He asked. “Uh, I got lost, sorry.” He said, throwing a look at me. “Molly’s looking for you Keegan. It’s lunch.” Brian said. Obviously he didn’t see our interlocked hands so I squeezed Jericho’s and took off. Luckily for me, I got away with the excuse of being lost. I fell into the lunch line with the others and fiddled with my fingers. I didn’t get much for lunch. Just a ham sandwich and a soda. My stomach was so full of butterflies I could’ve lived solely on them. I entered the mess hall and it was loud. It wasn’t like high school though. Everyone was sitting with everyone, despite what they looked like. Jericho spotted me and waved me over. I was two feet away from him when Amanda stepped right in front of me. “Uh, hi Amanda.” I said nervously. “It was you wasn’t it?” she asked sourly. “Um, that depends.” I said, clutching the sides of my tray. I had a horrible temper. “You told them that it was me and Mark didn’t you?” she asked, spitting on me a little. I was ready to attack her, I really was. But Jericho intervened. “It wasn’t him Amanda.” He said. “You know, I heard it was Briana and Bella.” He added a little lower. Amanda gasped and looked over at them. Jericho nodded for dramatic affect. Amanda stormed away and Jericho led me over to his table by my hip. “Thank you so much. I was ready to attack her.” I said as I sat. “I know. I saw her spit.” Jericho said smiling. I made a face and cracked open my soda. “They’re having canoeing and a bonfire tonight. A lot of people are doing that. The ones that aren’t are going to Ryan’s cabin, to do who knows what.” Jericho said half way through lunch. “Oh, well that’s fun. Which are you doing?” I asked, chewing slowly. “None. I have a date tonight.” He said proudly. My heart fell along with my face. Jericho saw that and smiled. “With you.” He finished and took my hand. I blushed and squeezed his hand. “What are we doing?” I asked, butterflies returning. “I’m not telling. You’ll see.” He said and smiled.
