~Chapter 11~

[Reunions and Marauders]

We were flying silently for a while until Rekku had spoken up "Hey, Ildecia, how old are you now? you must be at least twenty" she was right, I turned twenty one before i was banished. "I am twenty one, why?" "Oh, no reason, then you are about six years younger than me, that's fine then" what? whats there to do with my age? "so.. how well do you remember mom and dad?" i was curious, if her story was like mine "Well, i don't know them actually, when i was born, they banished me immediately. I have vowed revenge and will receive it." wow.. her motives are almost like mine...but...why was she banished? "I didn't fully understand why i was banished... Mom had only whispered that she was sorry into my ear..." her voice was filled with introspective sorrow... questioning herself. "Now, we are almost here, get ready for some fireworks, Nysicia hasn't seen me for ten years. ten years... she was only sixteen? "here we are, get ready for the worst..." she was pulling close to the cave, with deliberate care. she descended and landed with all the grace of a queen. she probably deserves it.. she looks like it We walked in tentatively, sensing nothing but silence and the quiet winds.
"It's been too long Rekku, how have you been?" his voice was monotone, and his face showed either hate or disgust that she was back. "Hello there friend, I am fine, dark and foreboding but fine, yourself?" no kidding.. she seemed possessed with a sense of power and authority, but maybe that is only because she is my older sister. I heard then the cold sound of unsheathing sword, and i saw a glint close to Nysicia's hand. "Rekku watch out!" i shouted, but it was too late, he had sprung too quick.. or so i thought. Her sword was already up and in a fancy riposte stance wow.. with that large of a sword? the black jet in the blade glittered as she deflected and countered Nysicia's strike "well, it has been a while, but you haven't dulled your skills, welcome back Rekku, its nice to see my old apprentice." "Ildecia.. i believe you have meet Rekku by now.. she is your sister and i will hand your training to her; she is a prodigy in the art and i'm sure there's nothing that I can't teach you that she can. "Well.. Nysicia, are you sure? I'm sure there's something that you left out..." i was quite sure that there wasn't but anyway... "What, little sister, are you afraid of me?" quite frankly yes, you look terrifying enough..also incredibly beautiful. We went to sleep that night both with questions racing through our minds, what will it be like training with her? and hers was most likely []i great... i get to train someone..... ugh..
I woke up with the rising sun like always, but today had a more ominous feel to it. I found a simple set of clothes, a red tank top with a short skirt, matching colors; the colors of flame and blood. curious? you'll see I quickly adorned it and rushed outside to see her waiting, sitting lazily on the cliff; at the same time, royally. "good morning there, i thought you would miss the sunrise, didn't Nysicia show you yet?" she made a deliberate effort to give me a playful smile at the end, but i knew she was serious. "y-yes he did, but are we training today?" she only grinned "but of course! Although, its a habit to watch the sun rise and set every day... Oh, and you will need more clothes, we are going off for a few days, i want you to meet a few friends." friends?? i haven't seen anyone near this region since i got here "well.. when you are ready, tell me, ill be waiting." she lazily swung her head back, her hair falling like a curtain of pure black.
I waltzed into my room, picking up the sword Nysicia gave me, a few sets of clothes nothing special here and put them in a pack. i glanced over at the mannequin, and saw that there was a gilded sheathe belted to the waist of the breastplate, and there was a sigil on the counter next to it. i picked it up to see it was a gold medallion with a symbol carved into it. what does it mean? this must be some old language that Nysicia remembers... but what? I hurried outside to see Rekku flying outside, impatient as always "Come on! we need to hurry up or there won't be enough time!" she dropped down a few feet to kick off the wall and fly forwards, not looking back to see if i was coming or not; but i was. Bounding from the cliff, i took off to the sky, following Rekku with maddened glee. flying is just amazing! give it a try eh? We flew for a good hour until she launched into a nearby forest and landed, obviously waiting for me to follow suit. as i landed, i heard a rustling in the bushes. Rekku whispered to me "ready your sword, and don't expect any niceties." I tried silently to draw my sword, but with no avail. The marauders lept from the bushes and launched their attack . There were no more than ten or so of them, dressed in dark, earthen colors. They had somehow bested Rekku some god's help most likely.. no way on THIS world that she could be beaten I saw them analyze me and slowly ready for another attack, when i saw a burst of fire, Rekku had escaped them, and came charging back to me, cleaving a few of the men in half along her way you go! kill them! i took this opportunity to attack as well, I jumped into the air, expecting to cleave my opponent, only to see them have disappeared. "Rekku, are you ok? and what did you do back there?" I was worried, but not much so, she was near invincible anyway/ "Yes, i am fine, scum like that usually can't touch me, but they had snuck up on me, and what i did was a flare circle, it can break through most defenses, if it cannot, i have another spell; it works quite lovely,. Supernova" i can see why we picked today to learn this, its hot as hell outside! "well, be surprised, we are learning it tomorrow, today i wanted to let you meet my friends, they aren't here any more, probably driven off by the druids. here, there's a cave over there, go inside, it will be safer." I reluctantly went inside, while she went outside making sure it was safe. I soon felt increasingly tired and fell asleep. I woke up near midnight, but what i noticed first was singing. It was the most beautiful sound i had ever heard, and i had heard it close to the entrance of the cave It was Rekku. She looked so beautiful and perfect during the night; almost a part of the night itself. She was singing an interesting song, it flowed with the night, swirling around me, lulling me back to sleep as she presumably finished.

(this song will not rhyme, and it has no music...so bear with my bad poetry.)
