You know those times where you can't think of an excuse to get out of something? I have landed bang, splat, in the middle of one of them. A friend, who I shall call E, decided that it would be funny if she threw an Ann Summers party, and guess which sucker got invited? She mentioned it ages ago, which I forgot, then called me up to remind me yesterday. The conversation went something along the lines of:
E: you're still free tomorrow, right?
Me: Yeah, sure.
E: Oh good, you're cool to make it to the Ann Summers party then.
Me: Ummmm...it would seem so.
For those who don't know, Ann Summers basically sells langerie and...other...interesting, 'pleasurable' objects. You have to be over 18 to go to these parties. You get me? Horribly embarrasing, but I'm terrible when put on the spot, and I honestly couldn't think of a way to get out of it.
Thankfully, I know my friend, C, is feeling kinda awkward about going (not least because she's 6 months pregnant), so we're going down together, and will probably spend the entire time giggling nervously.
*sigh* Note to self: learn to say 'no'.
