I went to the Journalism Awards today and I won first place for Continuing Coverage for my Insomniac Gamer column. We also got information on submitting work to the Frederick News Post to be published and working on some teen page over the summer or the fall or whatever it was. Caitlyn and I are pretty stoked. Our local paper isn't that great, but extra practice wouldn't hurt.
Our class did pretty well; we won more awards than in previous years. I think we won the second-most awards.
When we got back to school I paid my English teacher a visit and I got lots of praise and a hug. whee She told me that I'm a very hardworking and talented writer and that it's great to see it pay off. blaugh
So...yay! whee
Oh, and the food at the awards banquet was AMAZING. Soooooooo good. The brownies were to die for. I ate almost 3 and a half hours ago and I'm still so full.
