The girl lays alone in the dark
Though the carpet is stained red by the moon's silver spark
She is smiling
Instead of crying
She stares at the moon and she smiles because she sees
The leaves and branches as they sway in a breeze
And she thinks of the all too distant past
Of the days when her happiness would never last
When her smile played upon the lips of his beautiful smile
That to her...was worth while
And just like that he was gone
And just as she had always been, she remained alone
She met very kind people who carried her far
But they betray her and she discovered who they really are
Very mean people and very kind people
Who were always smiling a very fake smile forever
She fell to the very bottom of a well
And for awhile she lay in the pits of hell
She didn't scream, she didn't run
She just lied in the hellish sun
And watched the fires as they burned her skin
And made up her mind that she wouldn't give in
But she didn't move at first
Until the damn she built around her tears burst
And she found that she didn't want to be alone anymore
She didn't want these wounds and scars that were so sour
She sat up and she remembered so very long ago
The girl who had helped her up and taught her there was more seasons without snow
And she remembered how she wanted to be strong
So she could protect that girl who helped her move on
She stood up in hell and looked through the darkness
And decided that everyone deserves happiness
She reaches her hands beaten black and blue
And she cries now knowing what is real and true
She smiles as the sky turns how beautifully blue
And the tears fall with an unknown joy
Of all the lonliness disappearing like a forgotten toy
And as she begins to walk, she meets people she loves
She loves them all, she really does regardless if they hate her or treat her like god
She wants them to find euphoria, she wants them to smile
For her that would be worth while
But those who believe that she truly is evil
They snuck into that dark place and put the poison in her drink from a vile
And now she is laying on the floor
Where the blood began to pour
So many hours ago
And it began to snow
She watches it through the window in the moonlight
And she thinks 'Will they be alright?'
And she smiles, because she worries so
That they may get so sad that they let go
She wonders if she dies if she could still watch over them
She knows that in some way she made them happier then they were, for they were her friends
Her enimies
Her loves
Her family
And as her death slips away
She smiles at the knew day
Knowing that through all this pain
They will learn to smile again
