Chapter VI
"Don't." I pleaded.
"You need help, if I don't take care of that hole you wont be able to survive." He pulled away my hands with ease. Watching helplessly his face was serious looking and I could tell a hint of blush on his face. "Y-you're a woman..."
"Kai you have to understand-" My voice was shaky as if I was ready to cry. He stared at me while he stood up and left his things walking away. "Kai." He stopped and looked back at me, he started to walk off again. "Please!" He stopped again and sighed.
"You lied to all of us-" I cut him off.
"I did this for my brother! For Rozzaria!" I could feel streams of warm tears fall from my cheeks. He sighed and walked over to me holding my head in his hands while crouching down.
"I understand." He smiled slightly though I could still see hint of disgust on his face.
"You mustn't tell anyone..." I looked into his eyes as he nodded.
"Lets get you fixed up..." He cleaned out my wound and started to stitch it together. I winced in pain gritting my teeth hoping it would be less painful. He tried to fix my uniform, he stitched that together as well, it wasn't very convincing but it would do the job from hiding myself. He stood up and helped me up.
"You owe me big time for this one." He put one of my arms around his shoulder as we walked. I smiled realizing my life was saved.
"I actually knew you were a woman from the start." He smirked at his little plan of keeping his own secret. I flushed slightly realizing why he was acting so nice towards me. I mumbled as he laughed.
"That's not funny."
"Just be lucky I heard your real story." He smirked.
"Yea yea." I sighed. He looked at me with worry as I turned quiet for a long time, I hadn't noticed. I kept thinking about why the Tuor empire really wanted to take us over. Power possibly as I clenched my fists. He noticed my action as he stopped and helped me up.
"I think you should go for a bath." He suggested walking me towards the sphere springs. A few men watched us suspiciously walk together.
"I take it you are diggin' me." He laughed as my face turned a deep red.
"Don't be stupid!" I snorted as he laughed even harder at my response.
"I think you jumped infront of that bullet to get closer to me eh?"
I groaned feeling helpless that I wasn't in any condition to fight with him.
"I'm sorry." He spoke seriously. "The springs should heal you rather quickly." I nodded and looked at the tree in the middle of the lake. It was beautiful as the sun went down and memory orbs started to float around as well as in the water. The spectrum glowed from red to blue then to green, to yellow, a florescent flow as the middle was a bright light. I walked into the water with my clothes on as I sighed. Kai came in after me with a smile on his face seeing me feel better. My wound started to close quickly as I walked in up to my chest. He stood infront of me and smiled as his blue eyes shined in the light. His yellow hair blew in the slight wind as he was like a vestige of my brother. My heart felt like it wasn't there anymore and I felt like something was stuck in my throat as I started to cry. He frowned as his face looked worried.
"Why wont this war stop? Is every human like this? I can't take this anymore! Death after death! I'm alone in this world!" I was crying louder now, though it wasn't loud enough to catch the attention of the other men. Kai wrapped his arms around my waist as he pulled me close to his chest.
"You're not alone anymore..." He stroked my forehead brushing my hair back from my wet eyes as he leaned in. Feeling his warm lips on mine I closed my eyes instinctively as he pulled my body closer to him. I felt limp against his strong grip as we drifted to the deeper part of the lake, now he was holding me like a wife was lifted before entering their new home. I then felt the water go over my head as I opened my eyes and reached for his hand lacing our fingers together as Kai pulled away from the kiss and smiled at me as I smiled back. He moved his lips, I wasn't a good lip reader but it looked like he said he loved me. He pulled me against him again as we shared another kiss as the memory orbs lit the water around us in swirling motions as well as the rocks at the bottom.
"I finally had the courage to tell you that I loved you." He whispered to me as I smiled.
"Of course you'd had to wait for me to stop the charade first."
He smirked. "Of course." I smiled back and rested my head on his tan muscular chest as I soon drifted to sleep listening to his heart.
