This was my first weekend working at Perkins. I got trained last night, and thankfully it wasn't busy at all. So I was showed how to do everything a couple of times. I still don't remember where everything is in the kitchen or how to do some of the stuff with the cashier. Everyone who works there seems really nice. One of the servers is AMAZING. She's so awesome. And Kiri was hostessing with me today. And we're a kickass team. cool However the busser always took forever to clean the tables, which made it very hard to seat annoying people.

For example, I had to seat one group (a mother and her two teenage daughters). However, the section I had to seat them in had no clean booths. So I was seating them at a table when they said they refused to sit at the table. So I told them then it was going to be a few minutes before the busser could clean off the tables. The booths in the previous section (we use a rotation, and we had JUST given a group of people to the server before the one I was giving this group of people to) were clean. And they kept giving me a hard time and asking to be put at those booths and I was trying to explain that those belonged to a different server who had just received a group and this server had no groups to serve. Eventually, it just became too much and Kiri was on her break so I was the only one seating people and the line of people waiting to be seated just kept getting longer. So I sat them at that booth they wanted, gave an apologetic glance at the server, and had to rush back to the podium.

Gahhhh. It was hectic. And then one girl kept yelling at me and whenever I asked her a question (like where something was or where would I sit this group if they asked for a specific server, and things like that) and she would act as if I was stupid. xp

But other than that, it wasn't too bad.
