FMA: Chapter 6-Gone
Roy received a report a few hours later about what had happened. The enemy had been shot down and killed by Archer's men, but his subordinates were a different story. As soon as he got the report he stared at it grimly for a very long time. He scowled, the expression on his face unreadable.

Finally he tucked the paper in his chest pocket and got up from his desk quickly, leaving the room. He walked down the hall quickly, anger in his steps. He swore Archers name over and over, cursing him angrily for he'd been in the report.

Roy passed the main doors and kept walking, heading towrds the back of the building where the jail cells were located. He looked at the paper again as he read the numbers to the cells. These cells weren't the average ones, they were tiny rooms with soild walls, and a think solid metal door, with only a window high on the door, that had a shaft to open or close it to view in.

"201.." Roy mumbled as he stood in front of the door. He sighed and unlocked the three locks on it and slowly creaked it open.

Hailey sat in the cell, back to the door, but as she heard the door open, she looked back. She sat cross legged on the empty floor, as that was nearly all she could do. Her arms were wrapped back again behind her in a manor specified so she couldn't touch her hands together to perform Alchemy. Her hair hung lowly down her back, the hair tye nearly fallen out. Her eyes were dulled as she looked up at Roy tiredly, but fear was no longer there, she trusted Roy and knew he wouldn't hurt her.

Roy sighed and knelled down untying the cloth and ropes they'd used to bind her arms back. "You okay, kid?" He asked finally. She nodded. "He had no right to throw you in here..." He said quietly. Hailey glanced at him a little shocked at his statement, but upon looking at him, it looked like he knew something that she didn't.

Hailey stayed quiet for a long time after, along with Roy. "Roy...Archer did take Olivia and Ed and Ling to the hospital, didn't he?" She asked worry in her voice and a knot in her stomach. Hailey's eyes widened for a moment and he did something so out of character Hailey would have wet herself if the situation had been different.

"Hailey..." He started, choking almost. "T-They're gone..." Roy said quietly, as he held her in a tight hug. Hailey had her face in Roy's shoulder and she jolted as he spoke. "W-what?" She whispered, voice squeaking.

She couldn't help it, she burst out in tears wailing uncontrollably as she clung to Roy's jacket, burying her face in his chest. "T-they can't be gone! They were alive when Archer came! They can't be dead!" She shrieked.

But deep inside, she knew how it had really happened, as much as she didn't want to admit it or think about it. They were gone by the time Archer got there, that's why they'd all looked at her sadly when she'd yelled for Archer to take them to the hospital. He already knew it was to late...

Hailey cried and cried to the point she couldn't breath, but she still cried. Roy held her as they sat there and he listened to her repeat the same words over and over

"They're not dead. They're not dead..." She said over and over.

Those were the last words Roy heard her speak.
