Today's my last day at Gaia for a couple of weeks. I'm going to be going to Portugal to visit family and relax. These past two weeks have been a little bit more hectic than usual, with me needing to wrap up a bunch of stuff, get the storyline event out, and train some other people to do sponsorship stuff while I'm away. Frankly, I'm really happy for the break!

Every good recipe begins with garlic
Some of you may have been contacted by some curious parties this week in secret. I know I was - and I helped one of them more of the other. I won't say who... but let's just say I wear my decision on my sleeve.
This is my first time being a developer behind a new storyline-related event. I mean, I've been doing events all this year, but none of them were really 2007 storyline-related. This one was particularly cool because, in my opinion, it's gone really well.
A thread popped up in SF thanking me for the event -- but that's kind of awkward for me because I'm not the only one who was involved in the planning and implementation of the event. There are a number of Gaia employees who brainstorm and design this event who deserve a ton of credit. Considering that I had no hand in even coming up with the plot, I don't deserve as much credit as I'm getting.
I can say though, this is just the beginning wink
Question Time Again
I'm soooo busy today, but I wanted to get this out so people wouldn't wonder where I was over the next couple of weeks. So it's time to answer questions again... because it saves me time!

It's a little bothersome when my #1 fangirl starts wondering about how I'd like to die... but here's my answer anyway.
I would like to die... of natural causes at the ripe age of 238!

I always wanted the ability to make various things explode. Not like, explode with fire, but just burst out of their current location.
So whenever Brunosmad and I go to the movies together, we're usually there early. Sometimes we'll see someone walking into the theater with a tray full of popcorn and drinks, and I'll just like, nod my head at them. What I want to happen is for the popcorn to burst up right into their face, and the drinks to explode their tops off and spray everywhere.
Look around you -- you could have so much fun making the pages explode out of books, making pencils fly out of pencil holders, making birds feathers explode off their bodies. It would be so much fun!

Sometimes we'll make friendly wagers over various random things. Like "How many users have the password "inuyasha". We all write down our responses, a developer takes time to analyze the data, and whoever's closest wins rofl

Okay, so, some people don't dig it so much, but I thrive on this kind of stuff. No, I don't like stress, I don't like having to put in long hours, but I LOVE working on events, sponsorships, and any project that needs quality work done quickly. It really makes the job exciting and fast paced, not to mention that I get to work on stuff that users get to play with and have fun with.
Of course, with some events / sponsorships / releases, it also means taking a lot of the heat when it goes less-fantastically-than-expected, which is a bummer.

Honestly, I would say about 2 out of my 5 days a week here, I'm brought to tears from laughing about one thing or another. We have a really, really funny group here.
