I figure none of my players actualy read my journal here on gaia so this may be a good place to start jotting things down.
Temple of the dragon mirror. note the entire doungeion is under a glammor illusion spell. detect magic gives this way quick and there will be ways to deal with it. The illusion shows the opposit of what items here rely are. what looks to be a lovely tapestry is actualy torn and mangled or perhaps just a piece of canvus nothing more. If a player has a truesight item please read ahead for additional notes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You depart the woods and enter a large field on your way to the dragons temple. Its a massive expance of tall grasses. about ten acres across. settled in the middle of this field. a Tower. about two stories tall and forty feet across. its adorned in red banners all bearing the gold seal of the dragons mirrior. willow trees decorated in ribbons flank either side of the small tower. It looks almost as if a party is going on out here in the middle of nowhere as the smell of fresh food asaults your sences.
(DM note. The field is barren and rocky. have multiple times on the walk to the tower where you roll to see if the party suddenly trips over anything. if they do the illusion does not break but they will see what it is they tripped over allthough the others will not. the tripped players may make a search check DC15 to discover other obstickles close by. if they find the small crack in the ground. wide enough for a persons hand. and search a DC20 will reveal a small silver key with a tiney one inch mirrior for a handel. There are five of these keys total listed below in location)
As You get to the small tower you see tables and chairs. plates and glasses all set out. and hear the sound of people haveing fun inside. but you see no one. it looks like there is a party going on. favors glitter in the sunlight throughout the area. little flutes confettie. even a few pinwheels tied off to the branches of the willow trees to catch more air and light as they move on there own.
(A second key can be found tied off in the branches of the willow tree. a DC17 spot check.)
The large doubledoor is unlocked as you open it it reveals a massive chamber filled with coushens and small blocks for setting food or drink on. plates and glasses all set out. but no one is here. (((((A DC10 listen check as they step inside to hear the voices are now outside.) (The fallowing three keys are hidden. one in the key hole on the backside of the door. One amongst the silverwear on one of the small tables. and the third tied up to the chandalear hanging from the cealing. All dc 17 spot checks to find. Can take 20 on the one in the door and the one on the table) (A DC20 Search check will reveal a trap door under the pile of coushens in the middle of the room. Any of the five keys will work to unlock the trap door. though force or spell still work. If a key is used player useing the key may make a DC 15spot check to notice that the reflection of the room in the handle of the key is diffirent from whats around them.) The true nature of the room is decrepit. tapastries are torn and falling appart. wooden items are breaking down the coushens are ripped and staned likely from mice nesting long ago or the ocasional vagrent. (a detect magic on the keys themselves will reveal diffirent levels of information. The max resault is that the keys are enchanted with truesight. also any player with a truesight item could see this from the beginning.))))) As you open the trap door a gasp of stale air exits the starecase below. there is dust in the air glittering in the shafts of sunlight as the wooden stairwell spirals down into darkness and is open on one side to well lit carved walls. the detail in the carveing in the banaster of a dragon snakeing its way down. **Those with true sight or useing the mirrior see a broken down stair case leading down into darkness and does not see any walls to either side of it. note the stair case will hold togeather aslong as the party takes it one at a time. though you can throw the ocasional balance check in dc15 to let people see the trueth but it may also be nice to let them get down there first. discretion about how oblivious they might be behaveing.***
The stiars come out in a small 8X8 room. the stairs in the middle. on the east wall straight out from the stairs is a barred window oak doorway leading to what appears to be a large celler when you take a glance. (the silver key works here as well ) The door is locked. (DC 22 str to break open the door if no key.)
As you enter the door way the walls are lined with barrels. branded with some more well know wineries. one even cased in wax. a favorit to the tavern dweller in the group. the room is twenty feet wide by about 40 feet long. a door in the center of the far wall can be seen. and there are two large gaps in the rows of barrels indicating aditional doors going north and south. **** Truesight= The room is a broken down wine celler puddles litter the fore along with the husks of broken wine casks. there are three cell doors at the far end of the room. one going north one east and one south. none of the wine barrels look to be in tact. ****
