Hey all!
This is the first entry for my music discovery blog, so please bear with me~
This blog, I'd like to focus the spotlight on iTunes' latest free download, "Atlas Hands" by Benjamin Francis Leftwich from the album "Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm."
Benjamin Francis Leftwich is a singer-songwriter from York, England, born September 4th 1989 (it probably would have been more prudent to put out the free download on his birthday, no? wink ). He has released two EPs ("A Million Miles Out" and "Pictures" wink , as well as an album ("Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm" wink .
"Atlas Hands" itself is a beautiful, lyrical acoustic tune, perfect for soft listening (think of driving down a less-beaten, wooded road by yourself with the top down - that kind of song). While having an angsty undertone, the song itself is just too beautiful to make you actually sad about anything. It does, however, make you think of times past, and of home. "Atlas Hands" really makes you think about your roots and where you've come from to get where you are.
Overall Rating: 5/5
Please leave me comments and let me know what you think of the review, or to suggest a song or artist to feature. If anything, I just love learning about some new music, so a new track would be great to listen to! 3nodding
