Yuna Zeal's Logbook |
This is basically a daily journal, loaded with musings, drabbles for stories to write, ramblings...basically, it's a journal. ^_^ |

11/11/2020. Frick o'clock. Stuff on my mind.
I come in from the woods that are Facebook to discover that more hasn't changed than has. In that span, I've gained a job, lost an abusive relationship, gained PTSD, lost an apartment, lost a job, gained a different job, and most likely stumbled headlong into the disability that will ultimately take me out of the work force.
Fun, fun.
While this was going on, however, I also forged some incredible bonds.
(Yes I know. Insert YGO power of friendship gif here.)
In fact, while our sites crunch down around us I might drag them back here with me...because even when all I did was lurk offline here, this place was a constant.
And, to think everything was still here...
A few things have changed, of course. I'm older. I'm nonbinary and go by ze/zir pronouns now. My tastes...hmm, those aren't all that different, actually. sweatdrop I'm pretty much the same Yunie, now with noisier knees and glasses (that, real talk, I've probably needed since high school, but family internalized ableism.)

Second day back at work,
And I've had to come up with different ways to stay conscious during work while still keeping my medication schedule.
So, espresso.
The first thing in the morning, now, I make a point of a relatively fatty breakfast (as related to the rest of my day), followed by a multivitamin. I take that with a glass of OJ. After this, I make myself a glass of espresso.
Well, technically it's cold-brewed coffee. But I've been drinking it straight, three or four ounces at a time; and this particular batch brewed twice as long as it should have (ironically enough, on a day I was so heavily medicated that I didn't wake up to filter it). It's smooth, since it's not heated to brew…but the aroma while waiting for it to brew taunts me when I'm out. The entire apartment smells of coffee then, and *singsongy* I can't have it yet!
This morning's espresso was cut with maybe a half-ounce of cinnamon creamer. It was much smoother this time. And I totally forgot to heat it. But it was so good I might just have a new way of drinking it.Current music: None Current mood: Ergh. Coffee. Now please.

The hiatus is over.
Current Music: Yulara—Future TribeCurrent Mood: Drowsy and sore. I'm gonna be honest, I forgot my login information for a very long time, and then my soul was sucked out by other things. But since I'm stuck at home with a gimp leg now, I'm going to make sure that I do something that takes my mind off of my problems.
When my PSP is recharging, that happens to be Gaia.
So I'm hereby announcing my official return to Gaia.
I was surprised to find that there are a lot of new features since the last time I was here. For one, I noticed that there was a strange new link in the forums page: Heaven.
It looks like the GD reform mission has finally come to fruition. Transcendence? Yes. Now, if only I actually had something to talk about. The only thing that has happened since the last time I was on is my gimp leg. While at work, it blew out completely. For several days I wasn't even able to walk. When I finally could hobble around, it was to the doctor that they sent me to, and three more doctors in, it sounds like I'm going to need my knee either rebuilt or replaced.
I don't like the sound of that. I'm only 24, dammit. I canNOT have worse knees than my father. That's just wrong. While I wait for my job to own up to causing this injury, I'm sort of stuck at home. I've spent that time learning to cook. I'm not only up to passable, I'm now getting requests! 3nodding
I wrote something for NaNo, and actually made it into the Winner's Circle.
I got new stuff for my apartment, namely this computer and a printer.
…So, maybe a lot has happened. I guess, anyway.
See you later!

Work—or lack of; (under) Tech Level.
So, when I got to work today, as it turned out, it was too slow for more than four people to work. And three of those four were from the Illinois Center for Autism, so it was required that they work. As a result, for the fourth time in a row I have been sent home.
In the summer months I would not mind that too much, as scheduling snafus have resulted in almost everyone having one shot at working like nine days without a day off. But in the winter season, I need all the work I can get. When summer rolls around it will give me the chance to get ahead on my rent. Right now I do not have that luxury. So, as of today, I have busted out the ol' network to see what I can do for a little cabbage on the side. I've actually even seriously considered getting a stack of pita bread and bulk cheese and cooking little pizzas for whoever wants to buy one in the building.
I'm not a bad cook. Almost a year of living on my own—as opposed to cooking for myself while still living in my dad's place—has given me the freedom to test different things that normally I would not have. I've learned new recipes and new ways of cooking old favorites. Let me tell you, it's a hustle that I'm seriously tempted to run. ________________________

As it turned out, I got the iPod synced. But there were a few glitches.
Actually, not so much glitches as just 'things gotten obviously wrong.' A few of my albums don't have matching artwork (thanks to having different releases or having been originally encoded with Windows Media Player). I didn't think that this would be a problem, until this morning, when an entire chunk of one of my favorite albums was skipped, landing straight into the end. Confused, I noticed that the art was wrong. I flipped the iPod around to activate the Cover Flow function, and saw that NONE of the tracks in the album had the right artwork. I fixed it manually, since I do not have an iTunes account.
And, to make things even more annoying, the art won't autofix unless I GET one. So until I do, I've got some work on my hands.
Oh well. I shouldn't complain so much seeing as I got this for free.
Current Music: None. The Dr. Oz Show is on, though. Current Mood: Bored.
