Leon took out his knife, aware of something lurking behind him. He quickly turned around to find no one there. When he looked up, he saw a figured rushing at him and dove out of the way just as a knife scratched his cheek. He rose to his feet and wiped the blood off of his face with the back of his hand.
"Been a long time, comrade..." A man stood across from him holding a bloody knife.
"Krauser!" Leon said.
"I died in the crash two years ago, is that what they told you?" Krauser and Leon began circling each other.
"You're the one who kidnapped Ashley."
"You catch on quick, as expected." Krauser began twirling his knife in his hand. "After all, we both know where we come from." He jerked forward and slashed at Leon, who dodged and slashed at him, missing his neck.
"What do you want?" Leon asked, in a fighting stance.
"Hmph." Krauser swung his knife upward, just barely missing Leon's chin. "The sample Saddler developed, that's all." He slashed again, and Leon blocked.
"Leave Ashley out of this!"
"Oh, I needed her to buy Saddler's trust in me. Like you, I'm American." Krauser kicked an oil can at Leon, and he swiped it aside with his arm, and blocked as Krauser swung his knife again.
They both fell over the edge, Leon landing on his feet, and Krauser landing on his hands and springing off of them to stand.
"You got her involved just for that?!" Leon slashed at Krauser this time, and he blocked. They exchanged a few slashes, until Leon finally cut Krauser across the chest.
He rushed at Leon and grabbed his arms, spun him around, and kicked him to the ground. "...All for Umbrella's sake."
"Umbrella?" said Leon.
"...Almost let it slip. Enough talk." Krauser raised his knife. "Die comrade!" He jumped at Leon and held his knife at his neck. Leon used all his strength to keep Krauser from impaling him.
Suddenly, a shot was fired and Krauser's knife flew across the room. Leon took the advantage to kick Krauser off and stand up. He looked over at a platform. "Ada!"
Krauser stood as well. "...Well, if it isn't the b***h in the red dress."
Ada stood with her gun pointed at Krauser. "Looks like we have the upperhand, here."
Krauser laughed and jumped to a nearby platform. "You may be able to prolong your life, but it's not like you can escape your inevitable death, is it?" He walked away.
Ada jumped down and put her gun away, walking toward Leon. "You knew each other?"
"More or less." Leon picked up the knife. "Maybe it's about time you tell me the reason why you're here."
"Maybe some other time." Ada left as well.
