Ok I have a demon hang up with DND. I don't love them, I don't sympathise, I just think when it comes to Evil, and Evil minions nothing says Evil better than Necromancy, undead, and Demons. So with that in mind, I submit the following story line for your Aproval/disaproval.
The kingdom is under assult the dead are rising, unearthly creatures are walking about like they own the place. The Queen died first, then the King died alone in bed. The Princess is acting weird. What in the gods' names is going on.
In steps our party, in following with the tradition of all governments since the birth of civilization the expidition is not chosen on merit, skill, prowess, or even sales pitch. They were chosen because they are "The lowest bidder!"
There mission, and it's too late to back out now, is to find out what is going on, and if possible return the kingdom to peice, and do it all on a 2,000 gold retainer, plus salvage, - expenses and of course turn a profit. It's a mildly humours DND primis for a very serious campain. Our heros are going to live the mercanry life style, includeing but not limited to eating on a shoe string buget, and getting payed twice to do the same job. Can they pull it off?
