Entry 1, Day 02
*Day 2 = Second Day since starting zOMG
Breakdown of today's progress:
1. Acquired new rings: Hack, Slash, and Keen Aye!
2. Levelled up rings: Hack (1.0 to 3.0), Slash (2.0 to 3.0), Keen Aye (1.0 to 2.0), Shark Attack (3.0 to 4.0), Bandage (2.0 to 3.0), Solar Rays (2.0 to 3.0)
3. Created the Pirate Ring Set: (in order of rings) Slash, Hack, Shark Attack, and Keen Aye. Moving never felt so fast!
4. Completed the final quest for Village Greens, which was to kill the General Gnome:
At first, I was at the Gnome HQ, when the boss suddenly spawned and started chasing me. I managed to get a couple hits in, but I realized I was too weak at that moment to defeat it.
Thus, I did what I had to do to finish Remo's quest: lure the General to the stronger fighters razz I ran as fast as I could towards the windmill area of Gnome Man's Land, and lo and behold, there were three people lazing about. I ran in circles around them, with the General right behind me all the time. Fortunately, they helped me and began to fight.
The end result: one dead General, three dead Adjucent gnomes, and one dazed user (NOT me!)
Thankfully, despite landing only two hits on the General very early on, the defeat by the hands of the three users still registered my quest as "completed". I thanked the strongest of the group with a "ty", and left to report back to Remo.
I earned my reward and chose the ring: Hack!
It was time to head out to new territories: Bill's Ranch.
5. Completed the entire Bill's Ranch set of quests
At Bill's Ranch, I managed to complete most of the fetch, killing, repair, and rescue quests in less than an hour. Most of it were annoyingly having to go back and forth betwen Purvis, Rubella and Bill as their "messenger" of sorts. What LAZY NPCs! (-_- wink
Getting Stoocie back from Dead Man's Pass was a bit trickier, since my level at the time was pathetically low (I had to use shark attack twice + 1 dervish + 2 solar rays to kill a single snake monster in the first area of DMP). I tried to see if I could just sprint through all the monsters necessary to get to the area with Stoocie (which had two winged purses patrolling). Sadly, by the time I got to Stoocie, nearly a dozen snakes and 4-5 purses were chasing me and I did *literally* within seconds of trying to click on Stoocie to follow me. It was until I successfully tried again to retrieve Stoocie did I have some strange feeling that I had to kill the purses in Stoocie's area in order to make her follow me... <(^_^ wink
To successfully retrieve Stoocie (without the assistance of a crew), I had to hunt for orbs, through Larry, Klaus, and Purvis's repeatable hunting quests (for 20 Air Fluffs, Alarmskeeters, and Garlics) until I leveled my main offensive rings to at least 3.0. By then, I had about 2.5 CL overall, and when I entered DMP again, I patiently killed the monsters spawned in a screen each time, before I entered the next one. Patience and caution paid off, and I was happily humming a tune while retracing my steps through Dead Man's Pass. It made the atmosphere a lot less creepier!
After returning Stoocie to the ranch, the last thing Bill needed help on was fixing the two windmills and his fugly, yellow truck. He then told me that Rubella wanted to talk to me.
When I met up with Rubella at the northern-most point of Bill's Ranch, she asked me to check up on Katsumi in the Zen Garden to the north of Bill's Ranch. So I made my long trek north and entered the mystical, as well as mesmerizing, Zen Garden.
6. Successfully found Kasumi and returned to Rubella so far!
As I entered Zen Garden, I noticed a bunch of CUTE Pink Fluffs (of the Sakura kind). I think it was this obsession of mine to cuteness that I was fortunate enough to want to see more of them... and so I turned right from the entrance and made my way to the East. I soon stumbled upon a bridge that led to a shrine. Kasumi was there! She was casually sweeping the floor with her broom when I first saw her. I struck a conversation with her and discovered that her doll was animated (like so many other objects), and she had not been able to find it. I have a feeling that it will be a boss, and decided that I should level my CL much more (current CL = 2. cool before making an attempt to defeat it and return Kasumi's Kokeshi Doll to its non-animated form!
Before I went back to Rubella, I decided to back-track to the entrance, but go Northbound, where I stumbled upon two guards. One had tears swelling on the side of his eyes, as if about to cry, and thanked me for noticing him. Strange fellow... (;>.> wink
The other guard was much more talkative, though I wonder how he could hear me so well with those ear plugs he was wearing at first. He told me the Taiko Drums were driving him crazy, and that he wanted someone to get rid of some of them (10 to be exact). So I volunteered, as those classic, anime "tick" marks were beginning to pop up on his face. After some tough, but not too tough, battles with the Taiko drums immediately north of where the guards were, I returned and was rewarded for my efforts :3
Seeing as I still had to put a bit of effort into fighting the monsters in Zen Garden, I decided I was not ready to stay for a while yet.
Thus, with a sigh, I left the beautiful oriental garden, and returned to Bill's Ranch to confirm Kasumi's safety to Rubella.
Shortly after speaking with her, I resumed my training, helping out with Larry, Klaus, and Purvis on getting rid of as many monsters as possible.... which seemed like an impossible task, as more and more spawned, with no signs of stopping...
Well, until I'm prepared enough or found something interesting, stay tuned for my next entry in the world of zOMG!
