Without a direct gateway, travel to and from the Xerfalian systems and Aralunan has been proving particularly frustrating and difficult. The archaic rift stone I have been using was only calibrated for the transportation of one Xerfalian body, and whatever that body can carry, so parts must be small and must be transported one at a time. What this means, of course, is that some assembly is required.
Well... a lot of assembly. I have parts laid out all over the temple floor, extending through several rooms. The thought that the gateway, once assembled, will fit into the rift stone room is almost laughable. Yet this is the task before me.
Dakkron does what he can to help, of course. Having direct access to my mind he knows what needs to be done. His willingness to pitch in is rather endearing.
Normally, I could likely have put a gateway together in only a few days, but the gateway design I have selected is revolutionary and should offer transport to both Xerfalia and Aralunan. To accomplish this, it requires not only a standard space-time disruption assembly, but also a piece of magical hardware that I like to call the trans-dimensional fabric threader. Basically, that explains how it works. Like a needle, this thing pierces the fabric between our dimensions and pulls the thread (passengers) through to the other side.
A lot of knowledge had to be absorbed to figure the whole thing out; I hope I did not traumatize anyone too badly. The ball is in my court now, though, as Xerfalian technicians and Sylverian mages at both corresponding nexus points are building their gateways and will finish sooner than I. When completed, this gateway system will be the first permanent three-way transportation nexus linking the three worlds. That said, I will be installing security measures to control access to Gaia. The last thing I want is to see Gaia overrun with Xerfalian citizens (especially those of non-Xerfalian race) and some of the... creatures from Aralunan.
While I believe there are those in Gaia ready to see Aralunan and Xerfalia, there are many Gaians who are not. I will avoid polluting this world as much as I can.
That is, alas, as much as I can write in this journal entry. I have obligations to my people to return to.
