So, a small update on a week in the life of Jade:

I currently work at a grocery store, glamorous, I know. I work around 15 hours a week, give or take a few, part time. It sucks, but I'm good at my job, and excellent with my lazy-a**, annoying costumers who have "dumbed" their brain down so much they fail to be able to think for themselves and I therefore have to answer the obvious.

I currently attend university, first year, going for a double-major in criminology and psychology, along with a minor in writing. I am enjoying it so far, for the most part. Honestly, I was expecting a little more intelligence from the individuals I am supposed to call my professors, and a harder, larger work load. It does keep me busy reading, however.

I lack time for my hobbies, such as drawing, playing my bass, yoga, etc. School takes up about 40 hours of my week (that's a full time job), and then my work takes up about 15 hours, and despite my insomnia I do attempt to sleep for 6 - 7 hours each night ( I only get 20 minutes - 2 hours usually though). I do still get to write, play music, and draw now and again though. Other hobbies have been set to the side for now, really.

I'm grounded, and again, busy, so my social life isn't all that stellar at the moment. I have a small one though, and many friends whom I adore. Aside from that, I see my lover, friend, and now girlfriend, Sarah, during class, after school for a short time, and hopefully around once a week for a date. I've known her for three years, we have already dated, and I've waited 11 months to finally have her back. I would in fact, if I believed in such things, label her my soul-mate, however, they do not exist.

So, that's pretty well life for me at the moment. I don't exactly love it, but I don't hate it either, it can and will get worse, and more drab. After all, you can expect little of a life to be accomplished in a corporate society such as ours in North America, where politics and mortgages enter almost every equation bringing one's life down to nothing but living to pay for each and every breathe taken to their government. For now, though, art and nature remain the rulers of my petty existence in this world, and with that I have true reason to be living. I wouldn't miss the beauty of nature for all the peace death offers, not when you can witness the way a mouse scurries, or how the wind both provokes and molests the trees, who stand firm in their own existence.
