This here is just a piece of my novel. I hope you like it <3
I looked around the room. White walls surrounded me. The floor was cold. I sat up, but I was connected with IV tubes. And the machine, which looked like a respiratory and heart support was connected to my chest. I laid back down, I couldn’t go anywhere. “What’s this?” I said quietly. I was in a strange place. Seconds later, a long blonde haired man walked in. I fixed my eyes on him, he was gorgeous.
“Hello Miss Nikki, how are you today?” his voice was soft. I looked down and stared at my hands. “My name is Dr. Michael.” He smiled as he looked down at his clipboard.
“Where am I?” I tried to change the subject. Dr. Michael looked up and sat beside me.
“You’re in an Asylum.” My eyes widened.
“What?!” my voiced trembled. Dr. Michael placed one hand on my arm.
“Your mother brought you here this morning. You were having a break down, so we sedated you for a little bit. That’s why you forgot you were here.” He said quietly.
“Dr. I don’t belong here, not anywhere.” I began to cry. Dr. Michael sat up and scribbled something on a piece of paper.
Needs a lot of help
“I’ll check up on you later, okay?” I didn’t respond. He left the room; I only turned my head and looked at the ceiling. My eyes began to close, “Maybe, this is a dream.” I was now in a deep sleep.
The fog was heavy. The only way to see was to keep walking. I walked further, but I didn’t realize that I was being followed. When a sound broke the silence, I froze, turned around with my eyes widened.
My eyelids shot open. Sweat raced down my face. “It was only a dream,” my voice was gruff. I looked around,. “Hm…” I dozed off again. When morning came, I slowly opened my eyes. I noticed a face looking down at me. I blinked. I wanted to sit up, but I couldn’t. “Can you take these off of me?” I asked politely. The nurse nodded and started removing the tape and such. I was finally free.
“You don’t have to be here anymore. I’ll take you to your permanent room.” The nurse read my expression, she smiled. “Come on.” She grabbed me by the arm and hauled me off the bed. When I stood up, my legs were like jell-o. For the remaining minutes, I took baby steps towards the door.
“I can walk on my own now, thanks.” I said bluntly. The nursed loosened her grip and the next thing I noticed, I’m walking down a hallway that was filled with colorful pictures, mostly from other patients that are trapped in here. I kept on walking, the floor was cold. I wasn’t wearing any shoes. I followed the nurse down the hall and into a semi-white room. I could see a hospital bed, one window, and over on a table, backed into a corner where some crayons and markers, probably for entertainment purposes.
“Here’s your room, “I walked in and looked at the nurse, but she already left.
“It’s cold…” I complained. I closed the door and sat down this is ridiculous, I told myself. For the time being, I just sat there rocking back and forth. My thoughts raced through me, only negative thoughts came in and out. Being an Asylum wasn’t a good thing. So, why would there be positive things about it?
