Recently my English and US History classes have synched up, as they both are covering the Vietnam War. For English class I had to write some poetry that was inspired by the book we are reading, Fallen Angels. I have written a multi-verse limerick, an 8-verse haiku, 2 diamente poems, an acrostic, and a concrete poem. I am most proud of my limerick, so I decided to post it here. It doesn't have a title, though, so just enjoy.
Here lies a man A scared young man Who waits for the woman in white He walks towards his days In an angelic haze But his soul is lost to the night
Here lies a soldier A scared young soldier Whose fears ran away and came true A rose on his grave In the home of the brave Was killed for the Red, White, and Blue
Salute to the boy That scared young boy Salute to his final parade That sudden attack Like a knife in his back He joins the immortal brigade
Say goodbye to the man This scared young man Who is welcomed by men of the past The truth of this game Brings a terrible pain This man will not be the last
I might post more soon, so keep checking back. Skrapz out!
