I bring you to a scene on a clear summer’s night; please listen to the sounds of the crickets as they play you their song. Watch as stars shoot overhead; make a wish if you please. Feel the gentle wind as it caresses your skin, telling you its story as the leaves tell you of their short lives. This is where we find her, standing on a balcony taking in the beauty, same as you. Her eyes staring into the distant sky, the stars twinkling in their depths, the loose curls around her face dance in the breeze. The pearls clasped around her throat, hanging from her ears, and wound in her hair, offer their elegance as they gently gleam in any light that meets them. She reaches for a flower growing on the edge of the balcony; gently plucking it from its vine she studies it. Admiring the blend of creams and yellows, small freckles here and there; she inhales the sweet scent before softly pushing it behind her ear before readjusting the layers of her dress. Feeling the soft fabric beneath her fingers she sighs before turning to rejoin the party where people laugh and dance. Casting one last glance over her shoulder she disappears from our view, leaving the singing crickets, the whispering wind and leaves, and the twinkling stars.
