Week Forty-Three: Freak Out! UPDATE: Dude, I'm so totally late with the Week Forty-Four Update. How lame is that? Hopefully I'll have time to write it up some this weekend. Hey guys, This isn't so much an entry as another "Hey, yeah, I'm late again, sorry!" message. It's so close to Week Forty-Four there's no point in me writing a full entry, but I wanted to let you guys know that I'm not planning to stop writing these things on a weekly-basis -- I've just been super, duper swamped. Panic! At the HQ I mentioned in Week Forty-Two that I was working on 2 quests for May, one of which might be scrapped due to how crazy busy I am this month. If I have my way, though, we'll release both. I just finished making a major change to one aspect of the Quest System which was exciting - though I had to cram like crazy to get it done by a personal deadline I had set. I was actually freaking out Tuesday night because I thought, briefly, that it was impossible. One of the things I like best about engineering is that it really tests your ingenuity. You're sometimes presented with problems that seems almost unsurmountable, and the challenge is posed to you to come up with a solution that is efficient, eloquent, and can be finished in a reasonable amount of time. At the same time you have to make sure your solution isn't a hack (or as un-hacky as possible) so that when you have to make changes going forward, you don't have to work around your own hack. Shortness I mentioned this wouldn't be a full entry - even though there is plenty to talk about, including the upcoming quests, the fantastic Cinema feature, the Collectible Museum, and Fanime -- so I'll save the choice content for tomorrow. If you ever wonder why some devs don't chat with users, it's often because we're all up-to-our-ears in work!

	...interesting.... I made it through the entrie's title before, our "random mental image of the day!" popped up in our head. In essence, it involved a rehashing of said song "Freak-out" on stage, with Sir Fleep and his sheep, in an odd dance routine: Fleep: "Awwwwww... Freak out!" clap clap Sheep: "No Sleep? For Fleep?" All: "Awwwwww... Freak out!!" etc etc. And I can't even come up with a dignified excuse, as to why I thought this. Therefore, I shall wave a small 'Wahoo' flag and hope to the Gaian gods, I have something more constructive to say next comment. sweatdrop heart

	I saw the titled and screamed: OMG! FREAKAZOID REFERENCE! I totally have a three CD set of all the episodes, which I got from a friend. ninja I love that show. But yes....Keep up the good work thumbs up And umm...hopefully you'll get some not disappeared cookies this month.

	Lol, I'm learning all of the things you've mentioned as I do more coding projects. I'm the worst about hacking things together. I always do, and then I find out, "oh poop, I have to fix that now." xd As my research professor says, "First, make it work. Then, make it elegant. ELEGANCE IS NOT OPTIONAL." He's also threatened to scrub me with a wire brush if I keep using tabs. xd Coding is fantastic fun, but sometimes, it just makes you want to rip your hair ou- oh. Erm... sorry.

	Is your head about to explode? Personal deadlines suck. They're great, because they really tell a lot about the people who set them. 	If you're not going to be able to do a full, good job on the quests, don't do both. confused Do one, work really well on it and make sure that it works properly to be released. Users, or at least I personally, would rather have one good feature than two crap features. Not saying your features are crap, but if you're rushing to get them done, something will probably get overlooked. Don't make yourself so busy. Just save one for later.
