I can't believe it, last night was the Josh Groban Concert that I bought tickets for last October! I'll tell you exactly how it went, detail by detail:
We arrived at the sports arena at 7, an hour before the concert. I was dying, and going a little crazy at the same time. I couldn't stop giggling, yelling, jumping, and singing. Geez, I sang like 14 of Josh's songs, I couldn't stop. Anyways, we walked inside and tried to find our seats. We had floor seats, the best ones ever!!! Row 12 on the floor, right in the middle! I could actually see his face, which made me so excited! I sat on the left, and Kyle on the right, and there was only one lady blocking my view an incy bit, so it was all good!
We waited anxiously for the concert to start, and the opening act was Angelique Kidjo, an African singer who knew how to boogie! Her African tribal songs were awesome, and Kyle really enjoyed them. Our favorite was Mambo, which had a fun beat. At one point we all had to stand up and dance, but I just swayed because my rhythm is worse than you could imagine. I couldn't stop laughing, and after about 30 minutes of listening to Angelique, we talked about something that is extremely important to me: human equality. I couldn't believe that someone cared so deeply about human rights, and equality. She said it doesn't matter if your black, white, yellow, whatever, we all need to help eachother and share our resources. I clapped for that, because if only she could reach out and share that with everyone on this Earth. After she finished, there was a 30 minute intersession, and we eagerly awaited Josh.
Finally, after a half hour of waiting, the lights dimmed, and the curtain raised. The musicians were all there, and they began to play "You are Loved." My eyes lit up since it's one of my favorite songs, and all of the sudden, Josh comes out of the hole on the stage and begins to sing. I couldn't stop smiling as I saw my Joshie Bear in person, singing his heart out and smiling the whole time. I laughed, I cried, I sang along. That was the embarrassing, so I did it quietly. Everyone was taking pictures, but of course my phone camera didn't haev good lighting. Next Josh sang some of his other songs, which Italian names. He then talked to us, and I totally died listening to him! He's so hilarious, and I love his personality. I felt like he was so close, yet so far away. And his voice never faultered, it was always on key and perfect. After talking, he sang February Song, his hit single. At that time, I remembered my cell phone has a voice recorder on it, so I happily got that out and began recording his singing. If only I could play it for you on here!!!
Some of the highlights that I remember was Josh singing Remember When It Rained, A song I like to call "I am not a Hero", and Canto Allo Vita. I was so happy when he sang, I couldn't help but sing along. But when Josh started talking about human rights, he got me going, and he sang "Lullaby," and "Weeping". During weeping I just lost it and started bobbing my head alot and singing loud. Well, not loud, but my mouth was moving alot! I was bobbing to the beat, clapping, and smiling. That's when I let loose and realized "I'm not letting my social anxiety get ahold of me. I'm here to enjoy Josh, and I enjoy his music by singing with him!" I just love his African songs, they're so amazing! Another memorable moment was when Josh popped up in the back of the concert arena, walking down the stairs and walking towards the front of the stage. People started following him, touching him, gawking at him. It was so amazing when he got on stage and sang again, I was out of breath from excitement!
Josh is so hilarious, he really cracked us up. My favorite part was when he talked about how sometimes guys just don't know how to tell women how they feel so he said, "Hey guys, just do this: Play my song and say "Here's what I want to say through Grobans mouth." I know, not as funny on here, but hilarious in person! Let see, some of my favorite songs he sang at the end where "So she Dances" and this one song from the first CD that I can't pronounce. I loved it thoguh, and couldn't stop singing along. I was surprised he didn't sing Solo por Ti, or Une Giorno Si, but it was still awesome. He sang one of my personal favorites, Your Raise me Up, and there was the live chorus singing with him. At that point, I was out there singing like a crazy person, enjoying every moment of it! Josh is just so amazing, I couldn't stop! At the end of the concert, we left and Kyle drove home. I got a total of like 6 of his songs recorded on my phone, so I'm listening to those often. I am so glad I went, and can't wait to see Josh again in person! I love you Josh! Solo Por Ti!
