Sometimes, I can tolerate those being inspired from already existing manga/anime, but when a person is inspired by another artist who has already made something original for once in their life and takes an inspiration from that, doesn't the person who originally created that feel somewhat sad? Confused or angry maybe? I'm just asking a stupid question, but I get somewhat annoyed when people do that.
"It's all to make my story + characters great." Anyone can do that, but the real inspiration comes deep inside you, right? Why should you just take someone else's work or copy off it and it looks so similarly to the original? And from my view, it looks even worse if you incorporate more ripped-off ideas + characters... If one really wants to be original, one has to at least make his/her story original and the characters follow, but some people just steal stuff, including art, and that makes me very upset for those who have to suffer it... sad
This has never happened to me, but I have unsettling feelings about this issue anyway, which makes me a stupid hypocrite, so please forgive me for this meaningless rant.

Another annoying thing is making your OC fall in love with Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru, etc... ugh...It's bad on any anime, really... :nonono: Although I have to give them props sometimes when they actually do it well...
...BUT...Mary Sues are still annoying...I can never break away from that...so I agree with you, MNK. 3nodding
