There is a game out there, a very rare game called Persona. There are actually three of them, Persona, Persona 2 and Persona 2.5.
Due to american translation, believing that this sort of game would never be popular, it was badly translated, modified to their whim on a few parts and the second game, Persona 2, was completely skipped, apparently due to a small reference to Hitler...
Within these games, there is a truth, a reality... I will say something first. The you that you know, and the you that I know, are they both the same person? If not, would that not mean that there are thousands upon thousands of you?
This game seeks out the human psyche, where we can identify ourselves to the gods, the demons, the angels, the many mythical beings for they each hold different values and different aspects of our human soul. But this is reality as well. For in real life, do we act the same in front of a superior? Do we act the same in front of an old friend as we do a new friend?
Do we act the same before our parents, online, irl, with your lover, when you're alone... There are thousands of you, a thousand mask with a thousand different personality. But all of these, all of them are the real you... What is left is for you to grasp whatever Persona you wish to have and make it yours...
But tricking people into doing your bidding, is that truly cheating them, conning them? or is that just another you, a malicious you...
We all hold darkness and light in our heart, it is up to us to deny neither, to hold both and to be all that we can be. Remember that.
Well, I'm done babbling about this, I might add more later, but for now, that's all...
Edit:: Oh and Ash, I don't think humans can learn to live so easily and so carefree... Either you are capable of being born and hopefully growing up reinforcing that lifestyle, or you learn it, usually painfully.

I am but a simple guy, I still have a lot to learn, a lot to see... So therefore, I shall try to impart all that I know and do my best as well... That is, I shall try to give you all I know, and all I've seen, about this strange art which is life.

We all have a true us, a true core to us. When we are children, what is it we desire.. to play, correct? To have fun, to be free.. I believe that is what we all desire as children. As we grow older, the things change.. events occur that shape our lives. I had crushes on girls for example.. girls that most guys thought were "un-cute", or "not pretty" they even went as far to say as "trashy". (And believe me.. these guys pulled no punches, and we were 10 years old!)
I don't know why I was attracted to them, I just was. And as I grew older, it seemed to stay that way.. I never went after the hottest girl.. I always just went for what I liked, whether people laughed at me or not. I didn't care, however.. later on I started to adapt a thinking philosophy to it.. that looks fade, the phsyical attraction that comes at an early age.. that fades away through time. Anywho, I think I'm jumping off the topic.. I hope I'm not.
Sometimes we are wounded, are true-self is wounded and we create a defense or a "mask" to hide behind, not wanting to show ourself for fear of being hurt again. I think it's happened to all of us, sometime in our lives growing up we we are wounded in some emotional way.. when we needed someone to be there, they were not and it adapts into our minds that we have to be "on our own". It's a sad cycle.. we DO have to learn to stand on our own, but we devolep a persona to hide behind because of our fear because the wound hurt us and we don't want to feel that sort of pain again. BUT sometimes, it gets out of hand causing multiple masks/personalites to appear. Human nature is a confusing thing, humans have one of the biggest faults however.. and that is the "ego". We like to set ourselves up on a certain level. We like to show our progress, whether it's in life, in love, or just in our body's.
Honestly, and I have debated this in my mind for the longest.. have you (Or anyone, and I'm not picking on you.. this is a semi-rhetorical question) ever sat down and looked at how an animal lives? How a dog, or a cat lives? Picture insects as well, have you ever seen how these creatures live? They eat, sleep, mate, and work/play. That's all! A simple lifestyle that humans could learn from. No?
