We got 24 hours notice for the Halloween event which then ran for a week, and was even extended (partly).

Now people are adamant that they get given at least a week advance notice so they can PLAN their holidays properly.

See this I JUST DON'T GET. It's a symptom of an over-arching "taking this s**t waaaaaay too ******** seriously" atitude that I think is just inane.

I never EVER plan my day or week or any time EVER around s**t on the computer. It is NICE if I get to go on but it's not like "OMG I HAVE TO PLAN MY WEEK HERE I NEED NOTICE!!!" Are you absolutely serious? PLAN YOUR HOLIDAYS.....AROUND GAIA. You need to get out your god damned day planners and make sure all the wonderful social events and parties that would otherwise take up your time do not somehow impede your ability to collect red and white pixelated items?

I just absolutely can not comprehend this atitude AT ALL. To plan part or all of your time around sitting on your a** to get event items is just....plain nuts. Going, oh hey later tonight after such and such a thing I'll sit around for a few hours and do the event THAT is sane. Even to be excited about the event is FINE.

Giving off the feeling that you'd be all "sorry gramma something came up I NEED to be there they didn't give me so much notice" or would cry tears of bitterness that you had to read the updated Christmas storyline in its entirety after it was all updated and buy the five items or whatever for 1000 gold a pop seems a bit severe and well....unhealthy. eek

Sure I like the events and get excited for them too. Sure, I try to get on Gaia for more than just random posting and moderating during the event which ups the amount of time I'm on. AND I may even think, oh that's a bummer about not actually getting to participate because I'm busy. BUT I'd never need more than 24 hour notice because either I can be on or can't. Period. I'm not going to adjust or plan anything for a freaking forum based event game.
