I figure, if I'm going to post for gold I might as well make it interesting. So.. Uh. Here's some stuff on ..Well, stuff. You get a little bit each day, and I'm kind of hoping that I'll finish it eventually. Some day. Books of the Dead - Book One (Infected) - Prologue [Set at about 6105 A. W.*]

It's hard to quite grasp things when you live somewhere like Dei'ryl. Especially when the worse occurances happen to you. This was happening to Dra'cyon, and he most certainly did not like it.
The half-breed had merely been trapsing about the forest he liked to call his - nosing here and there to see if he could find anything that would be good for starting a fire. Unfortunately for the poor man, he could not use his magic in this area, lest it drew the more unsavory characters out from the tree-tops.
He had learned not to provoke the Machnids, especially the older ones. More than once had he almost had his skull smashed in by the powerful forelegs of the beasts, and it was something that he'd rather not repeat. Which was why, in a round-about way, he was currently scrabbling for purchace on a rather high-up, rocky cliff.
Drac (he called himself this, as Dra'cyon was too formal for every-day usage) had somehow displeased one of the creatures from its sleep, just from brushing up against a less-than steady tree. This had caused the easily-enraged monster to come chasing after him. Unfortunately, he had not looked ahead of him while fleeing, and ran right off the edge of a cliff.
Which brings us to his current situation.
