Point 1: He is greedy
Yep, you heard me right. He is greedy and hungry for power first and foremost. Now there isn't anything inherently wrong with that, but there is something wrong with the way he goes about it. By this, I mean that he is far too consumed by his desire for power that he often refuses to accept the consequences of his actions, particularly the consequences that over people suffer. A prime example of this would be when Kai assumes control over the Black Dranzer bit beast. During this time, he takes a good few people's bit beasts, to increase the power of Black Dranzer. Now it may just be me, but I think that that is a very terrible, I even guess an inhumane way to become stronger. Futhurmore, he only stopped using Black Dranzer when Tyson launched the original Dranzer in battle against Kai, breaking the ice sheet upon which they were fighting upon. This means that Kai only came to his senses when he nearly died as a result of his greedy lust for power. Infact, his life was saved by the very people that he had turned his back on to attain the power of Black Dranzer.
Also, a second point about his blatent over-the-top need to be the best is shown in G-revolution. In the series, when Kai is Battling Tyson, Mr Dickenson attempts to stop the battle and make it a tie, and as a result, Kai enters a state which some people could call 'berserk'. At this time, he is screaming at the head of the BBA, attempting to justify why he should be allowed to beat Tyson. Now I can agree that it if you were that close to becoming the champion, that you would be desperate to win, but I still do think that that is completely over the top.
Point 2: He complains too much
Indeed he does, at least for what his problems are. He complians throughout the first series about his 'terrible' past. The past that I am referring to is his childhood in the abbey. Now I can admit that it was probably a fairly hard childhood, but still he doesn't have to keep complaining about it throughout the first series. He conveniently seems to forget about other people's problems and terrible pasts. Also, This 'terrible past' that he lived isn't actually as impacting to his character development as one would expect it to be. As any roleplayers who read this should know, that someone's character historty pretty much defines their character. It shapes their personality, and their general development and reaction to situtations. As far as I have seen, the only real impact his history makes on his personality is his lack of speaking and being actively involved in conversations. This stems from a lack of communication, resulting in undeveloped social skills. I believe a quote from V 1.0 sums up what I am trying to say.
Now I think I need to into the greatest misconceptions people have about Kai, namely this one.

"Kai barely talks to anyone, because he think that they aren't worth talking to."
No. Just No. That is just so wrong it's not even normal. Tell me, why would he think that? Even though he is a very knowledgable competitor, he does accept advice from people. The reason he doesn't speak often has nothing to do with what he thinks of them. Infact, the reason he doesn't speak has to do with a flaw in Kai's personality.
The reason he doesn't talk very much is because he doesn't know how to. Think about it, if you lived the first ten years of your life in an abbey where almost all forms of communication where forbidden, you wouldn't exactly know how to have a conversation with someone. If you notice, he does start to talk more, and be more involved with the group in V-Force. So Kai is not some hard to open guy, infact he is alot like the rest of the team, just socially challenged.
