Evan took me to Disneyland yesterday for our anniversary (which was back in August, but he wanted to wait until school started so we wouldn't have to many kids to deal with).
We left the house around 6:30 in the morning, dropped Renee off at his mom's house and were on the road. We got there just as the park was opening (9:00) and were off like greased lightning!
Either the funniest, or saddest part, we got all the rides we wanted to go on done by 12, and kinda had to mosey around for a coupla hours since we made lunch reservations at the Blue Bayou for 2:00.
Okay, earlier this week, his little brother Aaron informed us that he and his girlfriend were going to be at Disneyland on Friday as well, and that we should eat at the Blue Bayou. Now, the Blu Bayou is one of those really fancy restraunts that you have to put a reservation down for. What's really cool about it is that it's inside the Pirates of the Carribean ride! The inside is perpetually twilighted, with the only real lighting being from candles on the table and chinese lanterns hanging overhead. Off to the side is part of the beginning of the Pirates ride, so you can watch people float on by while you eat! I've always wanted to eat there, but never knew how to get inside.
So anyway, Aaron makes us make reservations for 4 (which we did), then calls us a half hour later calls and tells us that they weren't coming! stressed
Funniest part was that we sat in the waiting area of the restraunt for almost a half hour before hearing someone mention that the place served cajun cooking. Evan and I looked at each other, and 10 minutes later we were enjoying bacon cheeseburgers at the Hungry Bear Cafe.
I've never had cajun cooking and a 35-50 dollar restraunt is not where I'm going to try it out.
Let's see...rides...
We went on;
Jungle cruise
Indiana Jones x2
Pirates of the Carribean x3
Haunted Mansion x2
Splash Mountain (x2 for Evan, I only went once)
Space Mountain
Star Tours x2
Tiki Room (not necessarily a ride, but I had to have my animatronic singing birds dangit!)
Completely bypassed Fantasyland and Toontown (though Evan profusely thanked me for not dragging him into Small World.
Unfortunately, almost all the pictures I took came out too dark! gonk
I only technically got these two (thought I had three, but the one of me and Evan in front of the statue is looking weird *thank you very much, photobucket stare *),
I've always loved the statue of Walt and Mickey. 4laugh heart
Evan had to have a piccy of Donald. whee
That, is undoubtedly the coolest Darth Tater shirt ever made! I'd own one but they didn't have it on a tank top.
And now, the souveniers!
Evan got a cute Pirate Donald to be a desk buddy near his computer. 4laugh
And here is the Lovely Renee Amelia modeling off her Pirate Mouse hat, and a little Pirate Donald Rubber Ducky to play with in the tub. 4laugh heart
What is probably the true reason I wanted to go to Disneyland. It took me years, but I finally have my Mulan ceramic figurine! whee heart
So Mulan wouldn't be lonely (not to mention getting Evan his favorite Disney Princess), we got Jasmine as well. There was also Ariel and Belle (and Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, but who cares?). Heh, it wasn't until we were out of the park that Evan said that if I'd asked he would've gotten Ariel and Belle as well.
And last picture...
Yep. Seymour is teh pimp. cool
...Penguin is still creeping him out though... sweatdrop
