I loved Pirates of the Carribean Dead Man's Chest, so don't get me wrong. I plan on buying the movie and watching it over and over again. But...
Is it just me or was the second movie strikingly similiar to Pirates of the Carribean the Curse of the Black Pearl.
1. In both movies there was a long sword fight. In CBP it was between Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Captain Jack Sparrow (Johny Depp) at the begining of the movie over whether Jack could leave or not. In the second movie it was between the comodor, Jack, and Will over the key to Jones' Chest, while the were spinning around on a wheel.
2. In both movies there was some form of the undead. In the first movie pirates damned to spend eturnity without being able to taste food, or quench their thist or their lust, unless they paided the blood sacrifice and all the gold back. In the second the crew of the Flying Dutchman made out of the sea, that were forced to surve Davey Jones for some amount of time.
3. In both movies there was a long chase/fight scene between two ships. In Pirates of the Carribean Dead Man's Chest it was between the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman and in Pirates of the Carribean the Curse of the Black Pearl it was between the Black Pearl (crewed by Barbosa) and the Boat curently crewed by Will and Elizabeth.
I think they made the movie in to much of a rush, and just redid some of the better parts of the old movie. heart
